2012-10-02Merge tag 'dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM soc device tree updates from Olof Johansson: "Device tree conversion and enablement branch. Mostly a bunch of new bindings and setup for various platforms, but the Via/Winchip VT8500 platform is also converted over from being 100% legacy to now use device tree for probing. More of that will come for 3.8." Trivial conflicts due to removal of vt8500 files, and one documentation file that was added with slightly different contents both here and in the USb tree. * tag 'dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (212 commits) arm: vt8500: Fixup for missing gpio.h ARM: LPC32xx: LED fix in PHY3250 DTS file ARM: dt: mmp-dma: add binding file arm: vt8500: Update arch-vt8500 to devicetree support. arm: vt8500: gpio: Devicetree support for arch-vt8500 arm: vt8500: doc: Add device tree bindings for arch-vt8500 devices arm: vt8500: clk: Add Common Clock Framework support video: vt8500: Add devicetree support for vt8500-fb and wm8505-fb serial: vt8500: Add devicetree support for vt8500-serial rtc: vt8500: Add devicetree support for vt8500-rtc arm: vt8500: Add device tree files for VIA/Wondermedia SoC's ARM: tegra: Add Avionic Design Tamonten Evaluation Carrier support ARM: tegra: Add Avionic Design Medcom-Wide support ARM: tegra: Add Avionic Design Plutux support ARM: tegra: Add Avionic Design Tamonten support ARM: tegra: dts: Add pwm label ARM: ux500: Fix SSP register address format ARM: ux500: Apply tc3589x's GPIO/IRQ properties to HREF's DT ARM: ux500: Remove redundant #gpio-cell properties from Snowball DT ARM: ux500: Add all encompassing sound node to the HREF Device Tree ...
2012-10-02Merge tag 'soc' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM soc-specific updates from Olof Johansson: "Most notable here is probably the addition of basic support for the BCM2835, an SoC used in some of the Roku 2 players as well as the much-hyped Raspberry Pi, cleaned up and contributed by Stephen Warren. It's still early days on mainline support, with just the basics working. But it has to start somewhere! Beyond that there's some conversions of clock infrastructure on tegra to common clock, misc updates for several other platforms, and OMAP now has its own bus (under drivers/bus) to manage its devices through. This branch adds two new directories outside of arch/arm: drivers/irqchip for new irq controllers, and drivers/bus for the above OMAP bus. It's expected that some of the other platforms will migrate parts of their platforms to those directories over time as well." 2012-10-02Merge tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM soc general cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This is a large branch that contains a handful of different cleanups: - Fixing up the I/O space remapping on PCI on ARM. This is a series from Rob Herring that restructures how all pci devices allocate I/O space, and it's part of the work to allow multiplatform kernels. - A number of cleanup series for OMAP, moving and removing some headers, sparse irq rework and in general preparation for multiplatform. - Final removal of all non-DT boards for Tegra, it is now device-tree-only! - Removal of a stale platform, nxp4008. It's an old mobile chipset that is no longer in use, and was very likely never really used with a mainline kernel. We have not been able to find anyone interested in keeping it around in the kernel. - Removal of the legacy dmaengine driver on tegra + A handful of other things that I haven't described above." 2012-09-19ARM: imx: use __iomem pointers for MMIOArnd Bergmann
ARM is moving to stricter checks on readl/write functions, so we need to use the correct types everywhere. This found a bug in mach-armadillo5x0.c, where we attempt mmio on the MXC_CCM_RCSR address that is currently defined to 0xc and consequently causes an illegal address access. 2012-09-19ARM: imx6q: use pll2_pfd2_396m as the enfc_sel's parentHuang Shijie
The gpmi-nand driver can support the ONFI nand chip's EDO (extra data out) mode in the asynchrounous mode. In the asynchrounous mode 5, the gpmi needs 100MHz clock for the IO. But with the pll2_pfd0_352m, we can not get the 100MHz clock. So choose pll2_pfd2_396m as enfc_sel's parent. 2012-09-18ARM i.MX25: Make timer irq work againSascha Hauer
Since i.MX has SPARSE_IRQ enabled the i.MX25 timer is broken. This is because the internal irqs now start at an offset of NR_IRQS_LEGACY. The patch fixed this up, but missed the i.MX25 timer which used a hardcoded value instead of a define. This patch introduces a define for the timer irq and uses it. This is broken since introduced with 3.6-rc1: | commit 8842a9e2869cae14bbb8184004a42fc3070587fb | Author: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> | Date: Thu Jun 14 11:16:14 2012 +0800 | | ARM: imx: enable SPARSE_IRQ for imx platform Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Acked-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>

2012-09-11ARM: imx6q: replace clk_register_clkdev with clock DT lookupShawn Guo
It really becomes an maintenance issue that every time a device needs to look up (clk_get) a clock we have to patch kernel clock file to call clk_register_clkdev for that clock. Since clock DT support which is meant to resolve clock lookup in device tree is in place, the patch moves imx6q client devices' clock lookup over to device tree, so that any new lookup to be added at later time can just get done in DT instead of kernel. 2012-08-23ARM: imx: build i.MX6 functions only when neededArnd Bergmann
The head-v7.S contains a call to the generic cpu_suspend function, which is only available when selected by the i.MX6 code. As pointed out by Shawn Guo, i.MX5 does not actually use any functions defined in head-v7.S. It is also needed only for the i.MX6 power management code and for the SMP code, so we can restrict building this file to situations in which at least one of those two is present. Finally, other platforms with a similar file call it headsmp.S, so we can rename it to the same for consistency. Without this patch, building with CONFIG_PM disabled results in: arch/arm/mach-imx/pm-imx5.c:202:116: error: redefinition of 'imx51_pm_init' arch/arm/mach-imx/include/mach-imx/common.h:154:91: note: previous definition of 'imx51_pm_init' was here arch/arm/mach-imx/pm-imx5.c:209:116: error: redefinition of 'imx53_pm_init' arch/arm/mach-imx/include/mach-imx/common.h:155:91: note: previous definition of 'imx53_pm_init' was here Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> Cc: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org
2012-08-23ARM: imx6: spin the cpu until hardware takes it downShawn Guo
Though commit 602bf40 (ARM: imx6: exit coherency when shutting down a cpu) improves the stability of imx6q cpu hotplug a lot, there are still hangs seen with a more stressful hotplug testing. It's expected that once imx_enable_cpu(cpu, false) is called, the cpu will be taken down by hardware immediately, and the code after that will not get any chance to execute. However, this is not always the case from the testing. The cpu could possibly be alive for a few cycles before hardware actually takes it down. So rather than letting cpu execute some code that could cause a hang in these cycles, let's make the cpu spin there and wait for hardware to take it down. 2012-08-17ARM i.MX6q: Add virtual 1/3.5 dividers in the LDB clock pathPhilipp Zabel
The ldb_di[01]_podf is implemented as a clk-divider that divides by 1 or 2. In reality, the ldb_di[01]_ipu_div dividers divide by either 3.5 or 7. Adding a fixed factor of 1/3.5 fixes their children's clock rates. This should probably be converted to rate table based dividers, once available. 2012-08-03ARM: imx: enable emi_slow_gate clock for imx5Shawn Guo
The imx5 common clock migration causes a regression with smsc911x driver on imx53-ard board, where a smsc lan9220 controller gets connected on imx53 with EIM interface. EIM needs clock emi_slow_gate to be functional. In the new imx5 clock driver, there is no use count incremented for the clock by enabling it, so the framework closes the clock at late init time and makes EIM stop working then. Enable emi_slow_gate in clock driver initialization to fix the regression. Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> Acked-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>
