2012-10-26usb: musb: ux500: fix 'musbid' undeclared error in ux500_remove()Wei Yongjun
commit 65b3d52d02a558fbfe08e43688e15390c5ab3067 (usb: musb: add musb_ida for multi instance support) used musbid in ux500_remove() but nerver declared it. 2012-10-26Revert "usb: musb: use DMA mode 1 whenever possible"Felipe Balbi
This reverts commit 4f3e8d263d34e52e75b5adfa14811467d3033d8e. it turns out that current implementation of Mode 1 DMA added a few regressions to some users, so we need to revert this patch and let author work on a better version of Mode 1 DMA support. Signed-off-by: Felipe Balbi <balbi@ti.com>
2012-10-23usb: musb: dsps: fix res_name lengthDaniel Mack
The res_name is used for the name construction of a DT property as follows: sprintf(res_name, "port%d-mode", id); Hence, res_name must be at least 11 characters long in order to store the name including the terminating '\0'. While at it, use to snprintf() rather than sprintf() when accessing this buffer. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM soc multiplatform enablement from Olof Johansson: "This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More platforms will be convered over in the next few releases. Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and possible: * Today each platform has its own include directory under mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead, and this branch moves a large number of those out to include/linux/platform_data. * Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot. Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the overhead." Pull ARM soc general cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This is a large branch that contains a handful of different cleanups: - Fixing up the I/O space remapping on PCI on ARM. This is a series from Rob Herring that restructures how all pci devices allocate I/O space, and it's part of the work to allow multiplatform kernels. - A number of cleanup series for OMAP, moving and removing some headers, sparse irq rework and in general preparation for multiplatform. - Final removal of all non-DT boards for Tegra, it is now device-tree-only! - Removal of a stale platform, nxp4008. It's an old mobile chipset that is no longer in use, and was very likely never really used with a mainline kernel. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/balbi/usb into usb-next usb: musb: patches for v3.7 merge window Here we have a bunch of miscellaneous cleanups and fixes to the musb driver. It fixes a bunch of mistakes errors which nobody has triggered before, so I'm not Ccing stable tree. We are finally improving OMAP's VBUS/ID Mailbox usage so that we can introduce our PHY drivers properly. Also, we're adding support for multiple instances of the MUSB IP in the same SoC, as seen on some platforms from TI which have 2 MUSB instances. Other than that, we have some small fixes like not kicking DMA for a zero byte transfer, or properly handling NAK timeout on MUSB's host side, and the enabling of DMA Mode1 for any transfers which are aligned to wMaxPacketSize. All patches have been pending on mailing list for a long time and I don't expect any big surprises with this pull request.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/balbi/usb into usb-next usb: xceiv: patches for v3.7 merge window nop xceiv got its own header to avoid polluting otg.h. It has also learned to work as USB2 and USB3 phys so we can use it on USB3 controllers. Together with those two changes to nop xceiv, we're adding basic PHY support to dwc3 driver, this is to allow platforms which actually have a SW-controllable PHY talk to them through dwc3 driver. We're adding a new phy driver for the OMAP architecture. This driver is for the PHY found in OMAP4 SoCs, and a new phy driver for the marvell architecture. An extra phy driver - for Tegra SoCs - is now moving from arch/arm/mach-tegra* to drivers/usb/phy. Also here, there's the creation of <linux/usb/phy.h> which should be used from now on for PHY drivers, even those which don't support OTG.

We have also some more conversions to the new udc_start/udc_stop which makes us closer from dropping the old interfaces. USB_GADGET_DUALSPEED and USB_GADGET_SUPERSPEED are finally gone, thanks to Michal for his awesome work. Other than that, we have the usual set of miscellaneous changes and cleanups involving improvements to debug messages, removal of duplicated includes, moving dereference after NULL test, making renesas_hsbhs' irq handler Shared, unused code being dropped, prevention of sleep-inside-spinlock bugs and a race condition fix on udc-core.

2012-08-31usb: gadget: get rid of USB_GADGET_{DUAL,SUPER}SPEEDMichal Nazarewicz
This commit removes USB_GADGET_DUALSPEED and USB_GADGET_SUPERSPEED Kconfig options. Since now kernel allows many UDC drivers to be compiled, those options may turn to no longer be valid. For instance, if someone decides to build UDC that supports super speed and UDC that supports high speed only, the latter will be "assumed" to support super speed since USB_GADGET_SUPERSPEED will be selected by the former. The test of whether CONFIG_USB_GADGET_*SPEED was defined was just an optimisation which removed otherwise dead code (ie. if UDC is not dual speed, there is no need to handle cases that can happen if speed is high). 2012-08-09usb: musb: Make dma_controller_create __devinitShubhrajyoti D
dma_controller_create is called only from musb_init_controller which is __devint so annotate dma_controller_create also with __devint. fixes the warn WARNING: vmlinux.o(.devinit.text+0x6fa8): Section mismatch in reference from the function musb_init_controller() to the function .init.text:dma_controller_create() The function __devinit musb_init_controller() references a function __init dma_controller_create(). 2012-08-07usb: musb: use DMA mode 1 whenever possibleRoger Quadros
Do not rely on any hints from gadget drivers and use DMA mode 1 whenever we expect data of at least the endpoint's packet size and have not yet received a short packet. The last packet if short is always transferred using DMA mode 0. This patch fixes USB throughput issues in mass storage mode for host to device transfers. 2012-08-07usb: musb: host: Handle highmem in PIO modeVirupax Sadashivpetimath
In case of USB bulk transfer, when himem page is received, the usb_sg_init function sets the urb transfer buffer to NULL. When such URB transfer is handled, kernel crashes in PIO mode. Handle this by mapping the highmem buffer in PIO mode. 2012-08-03usb: musb: NAK timeout scheme on bulk TX endpointAjay Kumar Gupta
Fixes endpoint starvation issue when more than one bulk QH is multiplexed on the reserved bulk TX endpoint. This patch sets the NAK timeout interval for such QHs, and when a timeout triggers the next QH will be scheduled. This scheme doesn't work for devices which are connected to a high to full speed tree (transaction translator) as there is no NAK timeout interrupt from the musb controller from such devices. 2012-08-03usb: musb: gadget: use variables according to their names in rxstate()Sergei Shtylyov
In rxstate(), improper types are given to 'fifo_count' and 'len' variables, and these variables are not used in accordance to their names (up to the certain point), i.e. 'len' to hold the size of a packet in the RX FIFO, and 'fifo_count' to hold a difference between 'request->length' and 'request->actual'...
