2013-06-17ARM: imx: create mxc_arch_reset_init_dt() for DT bootShawn Guo
The mxc_arch_reset_init() uses static mapping and calls clk_get_sys() to get clock. It's suitable for non-DT boot but not for DT boot where dynamic mapping and of_clk_get() should be used instead. Create mxc_arch_reset_init_dt() as the DT variant of mxc_arch_reset_init(), and change DT platforms to use it. Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>
2013-06-17ARM: imx: move clk_prepare() out from mxc_restart()Shawn Guo
It's inappropriate to call clk_prepare() in mxc_restart(), because the restart routine could be called in atomic context. Move clk_get() and clk_prepare() into mxc_arch_reset_init() and only have the atomic part clk_enable() be called in mxc_restart(). As a result, mxc_arch_reset_init() needs to be called after clk gets initialized. While there, it also changes printk(KERN_ERR ...) to pr_err() and adds __init annotation for mxc_arch_reset_init(). 2013-04-09ARM: mx27: Replace clk_register_clkdev with clock DT lookupFabio Estevam
Similarly as it was done for mx6q, use a DT lookup in order to make maintainance task for the clock devices easier. Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com> Tested-by: Markus Pargmann <mpa@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org>
2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-10-15ARM: imx: include hardware.h rather than mach/hardware.hShawn Guo
It moves a bunch of header files included in hardware.h and itself from mach-imx/include/mach to mach-imx, and updates users to include hardware.h rather than mach/hardware.h. The files in mach-imx/devices will need to include "../hardware.h". 2012-10-15mtd: mxc_nand: remove cpu_is_xxx by using platform_device_idShawn Guo
It changes the driver to use platform_device_id rather than cpu_is_xxx to determine the controller type, and updates the platform code accordingly. As the result, mach/hardware.h inclusion gets removed from the driver. 2012-10-15i2c: imx: remove cpu_is_xxx by using platform_device_idShawn Guo
This is some amount of work left/forgot from device tree conversion. Instead of checking cpu_is_xxx to determine the controller type, the driver should use platform_device_id, which should match the device tree compatible string. The patch changes the driver to use platform_device_id rather than cpu_is_xxx to determine the controller type/version. It also updates the platform code and device tree source accordingly. As the result, mach/hardware.h inclusion gets removed from the driver. 2012-10-15ARM: imx: include common.h rather than mach/common.hShawn Guo
Rename mach-imx/include/mach/common.h to mach-imx/common.h and update all users to include common.h rather than mach/common.h. It also removes an unneeded inclusion to common.h in mach-imx/devices/devices.c. 2012-07-01ARM: imx: move irq_domain_add_legacy call into avic driverShawn Guo
Move irq_domain_add_legacy call from imx27-dt.c into avic init function and have the avic driver adopt irqdomain support for both DT and non-DT boot. Now avic init function calls irq_alloc_descs to get irq_base and adds a lenacy irqdomain with the irq_base, so that the mapping between avic irq and Linux irq number can be handled by irqdomain. 2012-07-01gpio/mxc: move irq_domain_add_legacy call into gpio driverShawn Guo
Move irq_domain_add_legacy call from imx*-dt.c into gpio driver and have the gpio driver adopt irqdomain support for both DT and non-DT boot. With all imx platform code converted from static gpio irq number computation to use run-time gpio_to_irq call, we can now use irq_alloc_descs and irqdomain support to dynamically get irq_base and have the mapping between gpio and irq number available without using virtual_irq_start and MXC_GPIO_IRQ_START.
