2008-12-30powerpc/83xx: Add USB Host/Gadget support for MPC8360E-MDS boardsAnton Vorontsov
- Update the device tree per QE USB bindings; - Add timer (FSL GTM) node; - Add gpio-controller node for BCSR13 bank (GPIOs on that bank are used to control the USB transceiver); - Set up other BCSR registers; - Configure the QE Par IO. The work is loosely based on Li Yang's patch[1], which was used to support peripheral mode only. 2008-10-13powerpc/83xx: don't probe broken PCI on mpc837x_mds boardsAnton Vorontsov
In the standalone setup the board's CPLD disables the PCI internal arbiter, thus any access to the PCI bus will hang the board. The common way to disable particular devices in the device tree is to put the "status" property with any value other than "ok" or "okay" into the device node we want to disable. So, when there is no PCI arbiter on the bus the u-boot adds status = "broken (no arbiter)" property into the PCI controller's node, and so marks the PCI controller as unavailable. 2008-10-13powerpc: make Freescale QE support a selectable Kconfig optionTimur Tabi
Modify the Kconfig so that Freescale QUICC Engine (QE) support is a selectable option, thereby allowing users to compile kernels without any QE support. The drawback is that QE support is now disabled by default on platforms that have a QE, and so a defconfig is needed to enable QE and QE devices (like UCC GETH). 2008-07-16powerpc: pci config cleanupJohn Rigby
Choosing PCI or not at config time is allowed on some platforms via an if expression in arch/powerpc/Kconfig. To add a new platform with PCI support selectable at config time, you must change the if expression. This patch makes this easier by changing: bool "PCI support" if <long expression> to bool "PCI support" if PPC_PCI_CHOICE and adding select PPC_PCI_CHOICE to all the config nodes that were previously in the PCI if expression. Platforms with unconditional PCI support continue to just select PCI in their config nodes. SPI; 4. NS16550 serial; 5. PCI and miniPCI; 6. Intel NOR StrataFlash X16 64Mbit PC28F640P30T85; 7. Graphics controller, Fujitsu MB86277. Not supported in this patch: 1. StMICRO NAND512W3A2BN6E, 512 Mbit (supported with FSL UPM NAND driver); 2. FHCI USB (supported with FHCI driver). 3. QE Serial UCCs (tested to not work with ucc_uart driver, reason unknown, yet); 4. 2008-04-17[POWERPC] 83xx: mpc8315 - fix USB UTMI Host setupAnton Vorontsov
Currently USB Host isn't functional on the MPC8315E boards, for two reasons as described below. MPC8315 Reference Manual says: "The USB DR unit must have the same clock ratio as the encryption core unit, unless one of them has its clock disabled." The encryption core also drives I2C clock, so it is enabled and is equal to 01. That means USBDRCM should be 01 here. Plus, according to MPC8315E-RDB schematics, USB unit consumes CLK_IN clock from the 24.00MHz oscillator, which means we must adjust REFSEL bits as well. p.s. Idially we should rework whole 83xx/usb.c code, in two steps: 1. Move SCCR code to the U-Boot; 2. Implement fsl,usb-clock property in the device tree, so usb.c could decide what clock exactly to use on per-board basis. This adds to the 32 bits PCI code some flags, replacing the old pci_assign_all_busses global, that allow us to control various aspects of the PCI probing, such as whether to re-assign all resources or not, or to not try to assign anything at all. This also adds the flag x86 already has to avoid ISA alignment on bridges that don't have ISA forwarding enabled (no legacy devices on the top level bus) and sets it for PowerMacs. currently the board-level PHY reset code for the mpc832x MDS messes with reset configuration words source settings which is plain wrong (it looks like this board code was cut-n-pasted from the mpc8360 mds code, which has the PHY reset bits in a different BCSR); this patch points the PHY reset code to the proper mpc832x mds PHY reset bits in the BCSR. 2007-10-08[POWERPC] QEIC: Implement pluggable handlers, fix MPIC cascadingAnton Vorontsov
set_irq_chained_handler overwrites MPIC's handle_irq function (handle_fasteoi_irq) thus MPIC never gets eoi event from the cascaded IRQ. This situation hangs MPIC on MPC8568E. To solve this problem efficiently, QEIC needs pluggable handlers, specific to the underlaying interrupt controller. Patch extends qe_ic_init() function to accept low and high interrupt handlers. To avoid #ifdefs, stack of interrupt handlers specified in the header file and functions are marked 'static inline', thus handlers are compiled-in only if actually used (in the board file). Another option would be to lookup for parent controller and automatically detect handlers (will waste text size because of never used handlers, so this option abolished). qe_ic_init() also changed in regard to support multiplexed high/low lines as found in MPC8568E-MDS, plus qe_ic_cascade_muxed_mpic() handler implemented appropriately. 2007-10-08[POWERPC] Use for_each_ matching routinues for pci PHBsKumar Gala
On the Freescale embedded (83xx, 85xx, 86xx) and a few of the discrete bridges (mpc10x, tsi108) use the new for_each_compatible_node() or for_each_node_by_type() to provide more exact matching when looking for PHBs in the device tree. Remove includes of files that existed in arch/ppc that we dont need in arch/powerpc anymore. The following includes were removed: <asm/amigappc.h> <asm/bootinfo.h> <asm/ppcboot.h> <asm/ppc_sys.h> <asm/residual.h> <asm/m8260_pci.h> This also caused platforms/embedded6xx/mpc7448_hpc2.h to no longer be needed and thus removed. with QE UEC" This reverts commit 3baee955953957be5496cd28e9c544d9db214262. That commit was a mistake from the start; I added mdio type to the bus scan list early on in my ucc_geth migrate to phylib development, which is just pure wrong (the ucc_geth_mii driver creates the mii bus and the PHY layer handles PHY enumeration without translation). This follows on from commit 77926826f301fbd8ed96d3cd9ff17a5b59560dfb: Revert "[POWERPC] Don't complain if size-cells == 0 in prom_parse()" which was basically trying to hide a symptom of the original mistake this revert fixes. 2007-07-24[POWERPC] Make endianess of cfg_addr for indirect pci ops runtimeKumar Gala
