2008-05-13uml: fix build when SLOB is enabledJeff Dike
Reintroduce uml_kmalloc for the benefit of UML libc code. The previous tactic of declaring __kmalloc so it could be called directly from the libc side of the house turned out to be getting too intimate with slab, and it doesn't work with slob. So, the uml_kmalloc wrapper is back. It calls kmalloc or whatever that translates into, and libc code calls it. kfree is left alone since that still works, leaving a somewhat inconsistent API. 2007-07-16uml: Eliminate kernel allocator wrappersJeff Dike
UML had two wrapper procedures for kmalloc, um_kmalloc and um_kmalloc_atomic because the flag constants weren't available in userspace code. kern_constants.h had made kernel constants available for a long time, so there is no need for these wrappers any more. Rather, userspace code calls kmalloc directly with the userspace versions of the gfp flags. kmalloc isn't a real procedure, so I had to essentially copy the inline wrapper around __kmalloc. vmalloc also had its own wrapper for no good reason. This is now gone. 2007-05-07uml: rename os_{read_write}_file_k back to os_{read_write}_fileJeff Dike
Rename os_{read_write}_file_k back to os_{read_write}_file, delete the originals and their bogus infrastructure, and fix all the callers. 2007-05-07uml: formatting fixes around os_{read_write}_file callersJeff Dike
Formatting fixes ahead of renaming os_{read_write}_file_k to os_{read_write}_file and fixing all the callers. 2007-05-07uml: change remaining callers of os_{read_write}_fileJeff Dike
Convert all remaining os_{read_write}_file users to use the simple {read, write} wrappers, os_{read_write}_file_k. 2007-05-07uml: remove user_util.hJeff Dike
user_util.h isn't needed any more, so delete it and remove all includes of it. 2006-10-20[PATCH] uml: split memory allocation prototypes out of user.hPaolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso
user.h is too generic a header name. I've split out allocation routines from it. Signed-off-by: Paolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso <blaisorblade@yahoo.it> Cc: Jeff Dike <jdike@addtoit.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2006-04-11[PATCH] uml: avoid warnings for diffent names for an unsigned quadwordPaolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso
Since on some 64-bit systems __u64 is rightfully defined to unsigned long and GCC recognizes anyway unsigned long and unsigned long long as different, fix some types back to being unsigned long long to avoid warnings and errors (for prototype mismatch) on those systems. 2006-02-24[PATCH] uml: tidying COW codePaolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso
Improve (especially for coherence) some prototypes, and return code of init_cow_file in error case - for a short write return -EINVAL, otherwise return the error we got! 2006-02-24[PATCH] uml: correct error messages in COW driverPaolo 'Blaisorblade' Giarrusso
Improve some error messages in the COW driver, and say V3, not V2, when talking about V3 format. Also resync with our userspace code utility a bit more. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
