2011-07-27[media] Make Compro VideoMate Vista T750F actually workCarlos Corbacho
Based on the work of John Newbigin, Davor Emard and others who contributed on the mailing lists. The previous 'support' for this card was a partial merge of John's changes that, as far as I can tell, never actually got the thing working (no DVB-T, analog tuner not initialised). Initialise the analog tuner properly and hook up the DVB tuner and demodulator. DVB-T and analog now work (though I can't tune every DVB channel, but I think there's an issue with the aerial and signal boosters here that is causing me problems). A proper fix would be to have a resource locking schema, used by both V4L and DVB parts that would block access to analog registers while digital registers are in use, but this will probably put tda829x into a dead lock. With the v4l2_i2c_new_subdev* functions now supporting loading modules based on modaliases, replace the hardcoded module name passed to those functions by NULL. All corresponding I2C modules have been checked, and all of them include a module aliases table with names corresponding to what the drivers modified here use. Some time a go our customers wrote me about problem with our TV card BeholdTV Columbus. It's PCMCIA TV card for notebook. As I understand v4l has some regression with autodetect address of tuners. 2010-05-19V4L/DVB: Fix default state Beholder H6 tunerDmitri Belimov
The hybrid tuner FMD1216MEX_MK3 after cold start has disabled IF. This tuner has internal I2C switch. This switch switch I2C bus between DVB-T and IF part. Default state is DVB-T. When module saa7134 is load it can't find IF tda9887 and disable analog TV mode. Sets internal I2C switch of the tuner to IF by send special value to the tuner as for receive analog TV from low band. It can be usefule for other cards. I didn't set configure a tuner by a tuner model because this tuner can have different I2C address. Some variants of the ASUS TV-FM 7135 are handled as the ASUSTeK P7131 Analog (card=146). However, by the time we find out, some card-specific initialization is missed. In particular, the fact that the IR is GPIO-based. Set it when we change the card type, and run saa7134_input_init1(). (happens for example at 687.25 Mhz) - On a lower frequency (511.25 Mhz) the picture is always sharp, but lacks colour. - No sound problems. - radio untested. Digital: - DVB-T/H stream reception works. - Would expect to see some more channels in the higher frequency region. Overall is the impression that sensitivity still needs improvement both in analog and digital modes. We have support for radio on saa7133/35/31e cards with tda8290/8275(a) and 5.5MHz ceramic filter on the bridge chips since a while. It was previously not tested, if this card supports it too, but the old "ghost" radio with wrong filters doesn't work anymore.
