2013-08-20bnx2x: set VF DMAE when first function has 0 supported VFsAriel Elior
There are possible HW configurations in which PFs will have SR-IOV capability but will have Max VFs set to 0 - this happens when there are Multi-Function devices where the VFs are allocated to only some of the PFs. DMAE is configured to support VFs only if the configuring PF has supported VFs. In case the first PF to be loaded will be one without supported VFs, it will not configure DMAE to the VF-supporting mode. When VFs of other PFs will be loaded later on, they will not be able to communicate with their PF. This changes the requirement for configuring DMAE for VF-supporting mode; If the device has SR-IOV capabilities there must be some PF that has max supported VFs > 0, thus it will configure the DMAE for supporting VFs. 2013-08-20bnx2x: Protect against VFs' ndos when SR-IOV is disabledAriel Elior
Since SR-IOV can be activated dynamically and iproute2 can be called asynchronously, the various callbacks need a robust sanity check before attempting to access the SR-IOV database and members since there are numerous states in which it can find the driver (e.g., PF is down, sriov was not enabled yet, VF is down, etc.). In many of the states the callback result will be null pointer dereference. 2013-08-20bnx2x: Consider DCBX remote errorDmitry Kravkov

2013-08-20bnx2x: Change DCB context handlingDmitry Kravkov
After notification that DCBX configuration has ended arrived to the driver, the driver configured the FW/HW in sleepless context. As a result, it was possible to reach a race (mostly with CNIC registration) in which the configuration will return a timeout, failing to set the DCBX results correctly. This patch moves the configuration following the DCBX end into the slowpath RTNL task (i.e., sleepless context protected by the RTNL lock), allowing the configuration to cope with such races. 2013-08-20bnx2x: dropless flow control not always functionalDmitry Kravkov
Since commit 3deb816 "bnx2x: Add a periodic task for link PHY events" link state changes can be detected not only via the attention flow but also from the periodic task. If the link state will change in such a manner (i.e., via the periodic task), dropless flow-control will not be configured. This patch remedies the issue, adding the missing configuration to all required flows. 2013-07-02bnx2x: fill in sane dump flag informationMichal Schmidt
bnx2x did not set dump->version in its .get_dump_flag() method. Let's set it to BNX2X_DUMP_VERSION. It's not a particularly nice number (0x50acff01 currently), but at least it's something deterministic. dump->flag should report the value previously set using ethtool -W. 2013-07-02bnx2x: remove zeroing of dump data bufferMichal Schmidt
There is no need to initialize the dump data with zeros. data is allocated with vzalloc, so it's already zero-filled. More importantly, the memset is harmful, because dump->len (the length requested by userspace) can be bigger than the allocated buffer (whose size is determined by asking the driver's .get_dump_flag method). 2013-06-05bnx2x: Fix bridged GSO for 57710/57711 chipsYuval Mintz
It was recently found out that GSO on 57710/57711 was broken, due to packets being sent without a valid IP checksum. Commit 057cf65 "bnx2x: Fix GSO for 57710/57711 chips" partially fixed this issue, but failed to set the correct IP checksum when receiving GSO packets via bridges, as such packets enter bnx2x_tx_split() and the FW flags needed to calculate IP checksum were erroneously set in the incorrect buffer descriptor. 2013-05-24bnx2x: Wait for MCP validity during AERYuval Mintz
During PCIe advanced error recovery, the secondary bus reset will cause FW to reset; This will cause the shared memory between it and the driver to be invalidated. 2013-05-24bnx2x: Link-flap avoidance in switch dependent modeDmitry Kravkov
As part of the previous unload flow, probed devices will reset the chip in order to clean the remains of the UNDI driver. As a result, it's possible for the FW to toggle the link. This toggling can prove fatal, as long periods without link can cause the filesystem mount to fail as the storage protocol timeouts. This has been observed against particular switches with long link re-establishment time. This patch informs FW during the reset period that the link should not be toggled - the FW will keep it alive until some interface will load and claim the link as its own. 2013-05-20bnx2x: Fix GSO for 57710/57711 chipsYuval Mintz
Starting with commit 91226790bbe2dbfbba48dd79d49f2b38ef10eb97 `bnx2x: use FW 7.8.17', the bnx2x driver no longer requests the FW to perform IP checksums for IPv4 packets. This behaviour needs to be revised for 57710/57711 chips - when using GSO, if the driver will not set the IP checksum flag then packets will be transmitted by the chip without a valid IP checksum, resulting in a drop of all such packets on the receiver-side. 2013-05-20net-bnx2x: dont reload on GRO changeEric Dumazet
bnx2x_set_features() forces a driver reload if GRO setting is changed. A reload makes the ethernet port unresponsive for about 5 seconds. This is not needed in the common case LRO is enabled, as LRO (TPA_ENABLE_FLAG) has precedence over GRO (GRO_ENABLE_FLAG) Tested: Verified that "ethtool -K eth0 gro {on|off}" doesn't blackout the NIC anymore Google-Bug-Id: 8440442 Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Cc: Dmitry Kravkov <dmitry@broadcom.com> Acked-by: Dmitry Kravkov <dmitry@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
