2010-02-12net: use netdev_mc_count and netdev_mc_empty when appropriateJiri Pirko
This patch replaces dev->mc_count in all drivers (hopefully I didn't miss anything). Used spatch and did small tweaks and conding style changes when it was suitable. Jirka Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2010-01-19ucc_geth: Fix full TX queue processingJiajun Wu
commit 7583605b6d29f1f7f6fc505b883328089f3485ad ("ucc_geth: Fix empty TX queue processing") fixed empty TX queue mishandling, but didn't account another corner case: when TX queue becomes full. Without this patch the driver will stop transmiting when TX queue becomes full since 'bd == ugeth->txBd[txQ]' actually checks for two things: queue empty or full. Let's better check for NULL skb, which unambiguously signals an empty queue. 2009-12-27ucc_geth: Don't needlessly change MAC settings in adjust_link()Anton Vorontsov
If PHY doesn't have an IRQ, phylib would poll for link changes, and would call adjust_link() every second. In that case we disable and enable the controller every second. 2009-12-27ucc_geth: Fix netdev watchdog triggering on link changesAnton Vorontsov
Since commit 864fdf884e82bacbe8ca5e93bd43393a61d2e2b4 ("ucc_geth: Fix hangs after switching from full to half duplex") ucc_geth driver disables the controller during MAC configuration changes. 2009-08-31ucc_geth: Implement suspend/resume and Wake-On-LAN supportAnton Vorontsov
This patch implements suspend/resume and WOL support for UCC Ethernet driver. We support two wake up events: wake on PHY/link changes and wake on magic packet. In some CPUs (like MPC8569) QE shuts down during sleep, so magic packet detection is unusable, and also on resume we should fully reinitialize UCC structures. 2009-08-14drivers/net: fixed drivers that support netpoll use ndo_start_xmit()Dongdong Deng
The NETPOLL API requires that interrupts remain disabled in netpoll_send_skb(). The use of spin_lock_irq() and spin_unlock_irq() in the NETPOLL API callbacks causes the interrupts to get enabled and can lead to kernel instability. The solution is to use spin_lock_irqsave() and spin_unlock_restore() to prevent the irqs from getting enabled while in netpoll_send_skb(). 2009-07-22ucc_geth: Revive fixed link supportAnton Vorontsov
Since commit 0b9da337dca972e7a4144e298ec3adb8f244d4a4 ("Rework ucc_geth driver to use of_mdio infrastructure") the fixed-link support is broken. This patch fixes the support by removing !ug_info->phy_node check, and adds a call to of_phy_connect_fixed_link() if a phy is not attached to the MAC. This patch fixes all three oopses simply by rearranging some code: - In ucc_geth_open(): move init_phy() call to the beginning, so that we only call ucc_geth_stop() with a PHY attached; - Move phy_disconnect() call from ucc_geth_close() to ucc_geth_stop(), so that we'll always disconnect the PHY. 2009-03-23ucc_geth: Fix oops when using fixed-link supportAnton Vorontsov
commit b1c4a9dddf09fe99b8f88252718ac5b357363dc4 ("ucc_geth: Change uec phy id to the same format as gianfar's") introduced a regression in the ucc_geth driver that causes this oops when fixed-link is used: Unable to handle kernel paging request for data at address 0x00000000 Faulting instruction address: 0xc0151270 Oops: Kernel access of bad area, sig: 11 [#1] TMCUTU NIP: c0151270 LR: c0151270 CTR: c0017760 REGS: cf81fa60 TRAP: 0300 Not tainted (2.6.29-rc8) MSR: 00009032 <EE,ME,IR,DR> CR: 24024042 XER: 20000000 DAR: 00000000, DSISR: 20000000 TASK = cf81cba0[1] 'swapper' THREAD: cf81e000 GPR00: c0151270 cf81fb10 cf81cba0 00000000 c0272e20 c025f354 00001e80 cf86b08c GPR08: d1068200 cffffb74 06000000 d106c200 42024042 10085148 0fffd000 0ffc81a0 GPR16: 00000001 00000001 00000000 007ffeb0 00000000 0000c000 cf83f36c cf83f000 GPR24: 00000030 cf83f360 cf81fb20 00000000 d106c200 20000000 00001e80 cf83f360 NIP [c0151270] ucc_geth_open+0x330/0x1efc LR [c0151270] ucc_geth_open+0x330/0x1efc Call Trace: [cf81fb10] [c0151270] ucc_geth_open+0x330/0x1efc (unreliable) [cf81fba0] [c0187638] dev_open+0xbc/0x12c [cf81fbc0] [c0187e38] dev_change_flags+0x8c/0x1b0 This patch fixes the issue by removing offending (and somewhat duplicate) code from init_phy() routine, and changes _probe() function to use uec_mdio_bus_name(). Also, since we fully construct phy_bus_id in the _probe() routine, we no longer need ->phy_address and ->mdio_bus fields in ucc_geth_info structure. I wish the patch would be a bit shorter, but it seems like the only way to fix the issue in a sane way. Luckily, the patch has been tested with real PHYs and fixed-link, so no further regressions expected. 2009-01-30ucc_geth: Change uec phy id to the same format as gianfar'sHaiying Wang
The commit b31a1d8b41513b96e9c7ec2f68c5734cef0b26a4 ("gianfar: Convert gianfar to an of_platform_driver") changes the gianfar's phy id to the format like "mdio@xxxx:xx", but uec still uses the old format like "xxxxxxxx:xx". For the board whose UEC uses gianfar-mdio like MPC8568MDS, the phy can not be attached because of the incompatible phy id format. This patch changes uec's phy id to the same format as gianfar's.
