To save some memory, a union was used to overlay these variables with USB I/O components. In an update of the gain-control code, these register save locations are now needed for USB drivers. 2014-02-06rtlwifi: rtl8192c: Prevent reconnect attempts if not connectedLarry Finger

2014-01-09ath9k: Fix interrupt handling for the AR9002 familySujith Manoharan

A race condition in the HW results in missing interrupts, which can be avoided by a read/write with the ISR register. 2013-12-20ath9k: fix duration calculation for non-aggregated packetsFelix Fietkau
commit bbf807bc0697e577c137a5fffb30fca7c6a45da1 upstream. When not aggregating packets, fi->framelen should be passed in as length to calculate the duration. Before the tx path rework, ath_tx_fill_desc was called for either one aggregate, or one single frame, with the length of the packet or the aggregate as a parameter. After the rework, ath_tx_sched_aggr can pass a burst of single frames to ath_tx_fill_desc and sets len=0. Fix broken duration calculation by overriding the length in ath_tx_fill_desc before passing it to ath_buf_set_rate. 2013-12-20iwlwifi: pcie: fix interrupt coalescing for 7260 / 3160Emmanuel Grumbach
commit 6960a059b2c618f32fe549f13287b3d2278c09e9 upstream. We changed the timeout for the interrupt coealescing for calibration, but that wasn't effective since we changed that value back before loading the firmware. Since calibrations are notification from firmware and not Rx packets, this doesn't change anyway - the firmware will fire an interrupt straight away regardless of the interrupt coalescing value. Also, a HW issue has been discovered in 7000 devices series. The work around is to disable the new interrupt coalescing timeout feature - do this by setting bit 31 in CSR_INT_COALESCING. This has been fixed in 7265 which means that we can't rely on the device family and must have a hint in the iwl_cfg structure. 2013-12-12iwlwifi: dvm: don't override mac80211's queue settingEmmanuel Grumbach
commit f6b129527ca15bae29ffb9417ddaa1c9d99ffc5d upstream. Since we set IEEE80211_HW_QUEUE_CONTROL, we can let mac80211 do the queue assignement and don't need to override its decisions. While reassiging the same values is harmless of course, it triggered a WARNING when iwlwifi and mac80211 came to different conclusions. This happened when mac80211 set IEEE80211_TX_CTL_SEND_AFTER_DTIM, but didn't route the packet to the cab_queue because no stations were asleep. iwlwifi should not override mac80211's decicions for offchannel packets and packets to be sent after DTIM, but it should override mac80211's decision for AMPDUs since we have a special queue for them. So for AMPDU, we still override info->hw_queue by the AMPDU queue. The regression was introduced in the following commit: 0967e01e8e713ed2982fb4eba8ba13794e9a6e89 "ath5k: make use of the new rate control API" ath5k_tx_frame_completed saves the intended per-rate retry counts before they are cleared by ieee80211_tx_info_clear_status, however at this point the information in info->status.rates is incomplete. This causes significant throughput degradation and excessive packet loss on links where high bit rates don't work properly. Move the copy from bf->rates a few lines up to ensure that the saved retry counts are updated, and that they are really cleared in info->status.rates after the call to ieee80211_tx_info_clear_status. One of the effects of this bug is to inhibit association under some conditions as the TX rate is too high. Based on suggestions by Joe Perches, the entire routine is rewritten. One of the local headers contained duplicates of some of the ETH_P_XXX definitions. These are deleted. In commit 3d81535ea5940446510a8a5cee1c6ad23c90c753 (rt2800: 5592: add chip specific vgc calculations) the rt2800_link_tuner function has been modified to adjust VGC level for the RT5592 chipset. On the RT5592 chipset, the VGC level must be adjusted only if rssi is greater than -65. However the current code adjusts the VGC value by 0x10 regardless of the actual chipset if the rssi value is between -80 and -65. Fix the broken behaviour by reordering the if-else statements. We have to retain these fixed IDs to keep existing userland tools working, but reserve them so that other multicast groups used by other protocols can not possibly conflict. In dealing with these two problems, we actually now use less state management for genetlink operations and multicast groups. 2) When configuring interface hardware timestamping, fix several drivers that simply do not validate that the hwtstamp_config value is one the driver actually supports. As suggested by David Miller, make genl_register_family_with_ops() a macro and pass only the array, evaluating ARRAY_SIZE() in the macro, this is a little safer. The openvswitch has some indirection, assing ops/n_ops directly in that code. This might ultimately just assign the pointers in the family initializations, saving the struct genl_family_and_ops and code (once mcast groups are handled differently.)
