2008-03-05ARM: OMAP1: omap h3 regression and build fixDavid Brownell
Get rid of build warnings and errors in mainline for H3 boards; not all the H3 updates were correct, it seems like the OMAP1 boards are not getting proper build testing. Also, commit e27a93a944a5ba6a0112750c8243abba86d56e94 introduced a regression related to the tps65013 chip. This patch adds omap_nand_platform data based on a patch by Shahrom Sharif-Kashani <sshahrom@micron.com>, and makes omap1 boards to use omap_nand_platform_data instead of nand_platform_data used earlier. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2008-02-08ARM: OMAP: Add helper module for board specific I2C bus registrationJarkko Nikula
This helper module simplifies I2C bus registration for different OMAP platforms by doing registration in one place only and to allow board specific bus configuration like clock rate and number of busses configured. Helper should cover OMAP processors from first to third generation. This patch just adds the feature and current implementation cleanup and board file modifications will be done in following patches. 2008-01-31[ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai
This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. 2007-09-20ARM: OMAP: abstract debug card setup (smc, leds)David Brownell
Additional cleanup for debug boards on H2/P2/H3/H4: move the init code that's not board-specific into a new file where it can be easily shared between all the different boards (avoiding code duplication, and making it easier to support more devices). Make H4 use that. This should be easy to drop in to the OMAP1 boards using these debug cards; the only difference seems to be that the p2 does an extra reset of the smc using the fpga (probably all boards could do that, if it's necessary) and doesn't use the gpio mux or request APIs. Signed-off-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2007-09-20ARM: OMAP: omap2/gpmc updatesDavid Brownell
GPMC updates: - bugfixes: wrong/missing flags, omitted write, wrong test - don't map memory segments starting at zero - improve debug messaging - export gpmc_get_fclk_perio]d() since it's needed to calc timings - expect gpmc_cs_set_timings() caller to have initialized sync vs async Note that this API is glitchy; likely the best fix would be to add a member to "struct gpmc_timings" to hold GPMC_CONFIG1, since that holds one key aspect of the GPMC timings (the gpmc_fclk divisor, and sync vs. async == whether that divisor matters). Signed-off-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2007-03-17[PATCH] gpio_direction_output() needs an initial valueDavid Brownell
It's been pointed out that output GPIOs should have an initial value, to avoid signal glitching ... among other things, it can be some time before a driver is ready. This patch corrects that oversight, fixing - documentation - platforms supporting the GPIO interface - users of that call (just one for now, others are pending) There's only one user of this call for now since most platforms are still using non-generic GPIO setup code, which in most cases already couples the initial value with its "set output mode" request. Note that most platforms are clear about the hardware letting the output value be set before the pin direction is changed, but the s3c241x docs are vague on that topic ... so those chips might not avoid the glitches. 2007-02-17[ARM] 4185/2: entry: introduce get_irqnr_preamble and arch_ret_to_userDan Williams
get_irqnr_preamble allows machines to take some action before entering the get_irqnr_and_base loop. On iop we enable cp6 access. arch_ret_to_user is added to the userspace return path to allow individual architectures to take actions, like disabling coprocessor access, before the final return to userspace. Per Nicolas Pitre's note, there is no need to cp_wait on the return to user as the latency to return is sufficient.
