Pull networking changes from David Miller: 1) GRE now works over ipv6, from Dmitry Kozlov. 2) Make SCTP more network namespace aware, from Eric Biederman. 3) TEAM driver now works with non-ethernet devices, from Jiri Pirko. 4) Make openvswitch network namespace aware, from Pravin B Shelar. 5) IPV6 NAT implementation, from Patrick McHardy. 6) Server side support for TCP Fast Open, from Jerry Chu and others. 7) Packet BPF filter supports MOD and XOR, from Eric Dumazet and Daniel Borkmann. 8) Increate the loopback default MTU to 64K, from Eric Dumazet. 9) Use a per-task rather than per-socket page fragment allocator for outgoing networking traffic. This benefits processes that have very many mostly idle sockets, which is quite common. From Eric Dumazet. 10) Use up to 32K for page fragment allocations, with fallbacks to smaller sizes when higher order page allocations fail. Benefits are a) less segments for driver to process b) less calls to page allocator c) less waste of space. From Eric Dumazet. 11) Allow GRO to be used on GRE tunnels, from Eric Dumazet. 12) VXLAN device driver, one way to handle VLAN issues such as the limitation of 4096 VLAN IDs yet still have some level of isolation. From Stephen Hemminger. 13) As usual there is a large boatload of driver changes, with the scale perhaps tilted towards the wireless side this time around. Fix up various fairly trivial conflicts, mostly caused by the user namespace changes. * git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next: (1012 commits) hyperv: Add buffer for extended info after the RNDIS response message. hyperv: Report actual status in receive completion packet hyperv: Remove extra allocated space for recv_pkt_list elements hyperv: Fix page buffer handling in rndis_filter_send_request() hyperv: Fix the missing return value in rndis_filter_set_packet_filter() hyperv: Fix the max_xfer_size in RNDIS initialization vxlan: put UDP socket in correct namespace vxlan: Depend on CONFIG_INET sfc: Fix the reported priorities of different filter types sfc: Remove EFX_FILTER_FLAG_RX_OVERRIDE_IP sfc: Fix loopback self-test with separate_tx_channels=1 sfc: Fix MCDI structure field lookup sfc: Add parentheses around use of bitfield macro arguments sfc: Fix null function pointer in efx_sriov_channel_type vxlan: virtual extensible lan igmp: export symbol ip_mc_leave_group netlink: add attributes to fdb interface tg3: unconditionally select HWMON support when tg3 is enabled. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ebiederm/user-namespace Pull user namespace changes from Eric Biederman: "This is a mostly modest set of changes to enable basic user namespace support. This allows the code to code to compile with user namespaces enabled and removes the assumption there is only the initial user namespace. Everything is converted except for the most complex of the filesystems: autofs4, 9p, afs, ceph, cifs, coda, fuse, gfs2, ncpfs, nfs, ocfs2 and xfs as those patches need a bit more review. The strategy is to push kuid_t and kgid_t values are far down into subsystems and filesystems as reasonable. Leaving the make_kuid and from_kuid operations to happen at the edge of userspace, as the values come off the disk, and as the values come in from the network. Letting compile type incompatible compile errors (present when user namespaces are enabled) guide me to find the issues. The most tricky areas have been the places where we had an implicit union of uid and gid values and were storing them in an unsigned int. Those places were converted into explicit unions. I made certain to handle those places with simple trivial patches. Out of that work I discovered we have generic interfaces for storing quota by projid. I had never heard of the project identifiers before. Adding full user namespace support for project identifiers accounts for most of the code size growth in my git tree. Ultimately there will be work to relax privlige checks from "capable(FOO)" to "ns_capable(user_ns, FOO)" where it is safe allowing root in a user names to do those things that today we only forbid to non-root users because it will confuse suid root applications. While I was pushing kuid_t and kgid_t changes deep into the audit code I made a few other cleanups. I capitalized on the fact we process netlink messages in the context of the message sender. I removed usage of NETLINK_CRED, and started directly using current->tty. Some of these patches have also made it into maintainer trees, with no problems from identical code from different trees showing up in linux-next. After reading through all of this code I feel like I might be able to win a game of kernel trivial pursuit." 2012-09-20xfrm_user: don't copy esn replay window twice for new statesMathias Krause

2012-09-20xfrm_user: ensure user supplied esn replay window is validMathias Krause
The current code fails to ensure that the netlink message actually contains as many bytes as the header indicates. If a user creates a new state or updates an existing one but does not supply the bytes for the whole ESN replay window, the kernel copies random heap bytes into the replay bitmap, the ones happen to follow the XFRMA_REPLAY_ESN_VAL netlink attribute. This leads to following issues: 1. The replay window has random bits set confusing the replay handling code later on. 2. A malicious user could use this flaw to leak up to ~3.5kB of heap memory when she has access to the XFRM netlink interface (requires CAP_NET_ADMIN). Known users of the ESN replay window are strongSwan and Steffen's iproute2 patch (<http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/85962/>). The latter uses the interface with a bitmap supplied while the former does not. strongSwan is therefore prone to run into issue 1. To fix both issues without breaking existing userland allow using the XFRMA_REPLAY_ESN_VAL netlink attribute with either an empty bitmap or a fully specified one. For the former case we initialize the in-kernel bitmap with zero, for the latter we copy the user supplied bitmap. For state updates the full bitmap must be supplied. To prevent overflows in the bitmap length calculation the maximum size of bmp_len is limited to 128 by this patch -- resulting in a maximum replay window of 4096 packets. This should be sufficient for all real life scenarios (RFC 4303 recommends a default replay window size of 64). 2012-09-20xfrm_user: fix info leak in copy_to_user_tmpl()Mathias Krause
The memory used for the template copy is a local stack variable. As struct xfrm_user_tmpl contains multiple holes added by the compiler for alignment, not initializing the memory will lead to leaking stack bytes to userland. Add an explicit memset(0) to avoid the info leak. Initial version of the patch by Brad Spengler. 2012-09-10xfrm: Report user triggered expirations against the users socketEric W. Biederman
When a policy expiration is triggered from user space the request travels through km_policy_expired and ultimately into xfrm_exp_policy_notify which calls build_polexpire. build_polexpire uses the netlink port passed to km_policy_expired as the source port for the netlink message it builds. When a state expiration is triggered from user space the request travles through km_state_expired and ultimately into xfrm_exp_state_notify which calls build_expire. build_expire uses the netlink port passed to km_state_expired as the source port for the netlink message it builds. 2012-09-04xfrm: Workaround incompatibility of ESN and async cryptoSteffen Klassert
ESN for esp is defined in RFC 4303. This RFC assumes that the sequence number counters are always up to date. However, this is not true if an async crypto algorithm is employed. If the sequence number counters are not up to date on sequence number check, we may incorrectly update the upper 32 bit of the sequence number. This leads to a DOS. We workaround this by comparing the upper sequence number, (used for authentication) with the upper sequence number computed after the async processing. We drop the packet if these numbers are different. To do this, we introduce a recheck function that does this check in the ESN case. This patch reverts commit 56892261ed1a (xfrm: Use rcu_dereference_bh to deference pointer protected by rcu_read_lock_bh), and fixes bugs introduced in commit 418a99ac6ad ( Replace rwlock on xfrm_policy_afinfo with rcu ) 1) We properly use RCU variant in this file, not a mix of RCU/RCU_BH 2) We must defer some writes after the synchronize_rcu() call or a reader can crash dereferencing NULL pointer. 3) Now we use the xfrm_policy_afinfo_lock spinlock only from process context, we no longer need to block BH in xfrm_policy_register_afinfo() and xfrm_policy_unregister_afinfo() 4) Can use RCU_INIT_POINTER() instead of rcu_assign_pointer() in xfrm_policy_unregister_afinfo() 5) Remove a forward inline declaration (xfrm_policy_put_afinfo()), and also move xfrm_policy_get_afinfo() declaration. This patch adds the following structure: struct netlink_kernel_cfg { unsigned int groups; void (*input)(struct sk_buff *skb); struct mutex *cb_mutex; }; That can be passed to netlink_kernel_create to set optional configurations for netlink kernel sockets. I've populated this structure by looking for NULL and zero parameters at the existing code. The remaining parameters that always need to be set are still left in the original interface. That includes optional parameters for the netlink socket creation. This allows easy extensibility of this interface in the future. This patch also adapts all callers to use this new interface. 2012-05-27ipv6: fix incorrect ipsec fragmentGao feng
Since commit ad0081e43a "ipv6: Fragment locally generated tunnel-mode IPSec6 packets as needed" the fragment of packets is incorrect. because tunnel mode needs IPsec headers and trailer for all fragments, while on transport mode it is sufficient to add the headers to the first fragment and the trailer to the last. so modify mtu and maxfraglen base on ipsec mode and if fragment is first or last. with my test,it work well(every fragment's size is the mtu) and does not trigger slow fragment path. Changes from v1: though optimization, mtu_prev and maxfraglen_prev can be delete. replace xfrm mode codes with dst_entry's new frag DST_XFRM_TUNNEL. add fuction ip6_append_data_mtu to make codes clearer. 2012-05-15xfrm_algo: drop an unnecessary inclusionJan Beulich
For several releases, this has not been needed anymore, as no helper functions declared in net/ah.h get implemented by xfrm_algo.c anymore. Signed-off-by: Jan Beulich <jbeulich@suse.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-05-15xfrm: make xfrm_algo.c a moduleJan Beulich
By making this a standalone config option (auto-selected as needed), selecting CRYPTO from here rather than from XFRM (which is boolean) allows the core crypto code to become a module again even when XFRM=y. 2012-04-21net: Convert all sysctl registrations to register_net_sysctlEric W. Biederman
This results in code with less boiler plate that is a bit easier to read. Additionally stops us from using compatibility code in the sysctl core, hastening the day when the compatibility code can be removed. Signed-off-by: Eric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com> Acked-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@parallels.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-04-15net: cleanup unsigned to unsigned intEric Dumazet
Use of "unsigned int" is preferred to bare "unsigned" in net tree. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-04-09SELinux: include flow.h where used rather than get it indirectlyEric Paris
We use flow_cache_genid in the selinux xfrm files. This is declared in net/flow.h However we do not include that file directly anywhere. We have always just gotten it through a long chain of indirect .h file includes. on x86_64: CC security/selinux/ss/services.o In file included from /next/linux-next-20120216/security/selinux/ss/services.c:69:0: /next/linux-next-20120216/security/selinux/include/xfrm.h: In function 'selinux_xfrm_notify_policyload': /next/linux-next-20120216/security/selinux/include/xfrm.h:51:14: error: 'flow_cache_genid' undeclared (first use in this function) /next/linux-next-20120216/security/selinux/include/xfrm.h:51:14: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in make[3]: *** [security/selinux/ss/services.o] Error 1 Reported-by: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xenotime.net> Signed-off-by: Eric Paris <eparis@redhat.com>
2012-04-01xfrm_user: Stop using NLA_PUT*().David S. Miller
These macros contain a hidden goto, and are thus extremely error prone and make code hard to audit. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-03-22xfrm: Access the replay notify functions via the registered callbacksSteffen Klassert
We call the wrong replay notify function when we use ESN replay handling. This leads to the fact that we don't send notifications if we use ESN. Fix this by calling the registered callbacks instead of xfrm_replay_notify(). Signed-off-by: Steffen Klassert <steffen.klassert@secunet.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-03-22xfrm: Remove unused xfrm_state from xfrm_state_check_spaceSteffen Klassert
The xfrm_state argument is unused in this function, so remove it. Also the name xfrm_state_check_space does not really match what this function does. It actually checks if we have enough head and tailroom on the skb. So we rename the function to xfrm_skb_check_space. 2012-02-26netlink: add netlink_dump_control structure for netlink_dump_start()Pablo Neira Ayuso
Davem considers that the argument list of this interface is getting out of control. This patch tries to address this issue following his proposal: struct netlink_dump_control c = { .dump = dump, .done = done, ... }; netlink_dump_start(..., &c); Suggested by David S. Miller. 2012-01-12net: reintroduce missing rcu_assign_pointer() callsEric Dumazet
commit a9b3cd7f32 (rcu: convert uses of rcu_assign_pointer(x, NULL) to RCU_INIT_POINTER) did a lot of incorrect changes, since it did a complete conversion of rcu_assign_pointer(x, y) to RCU_INIT_POINTER(x, y). We miss needed barriers, even on x86, when y is not NULL. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> CC: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> CC: Paul E. 2012-01-05security: remove the security_netlink_recv hook as it is equivalent to capable()Eric Paris
Once upon a time netlink was not sync and we had to get the effective capabilities from the skb that was being received. Today we instead get the capabilities from the current task. This has rendered the entire purpose of the hook moot as it is now functionally equivalent to the capable() call. Signed-off-by: Eric Paris <eparis@redhat.com>
2011-12-23Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller
Conflicts: net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c Just two overlapping changes, one added an initialization of a local variable, and another change added a new local variable. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-12-21net: Add a flow_cache_flush_deferred functionSteffen Klassert
flow_cach_flush() might sleep but can be called from atomic context via the xfrm garbage collector. So add a flow_cache_flush_deferred() function and use this if the xfrm garbage colector is invoked from within the packet path.
