2016-12-03libfdt: replace ARCH_FIXUP_FDT with ARCH_FIXUP_FDT_MEMORYMasahiro Yamada
Commit e2f88dfd2d96 ("libfdt: Introduce new ARCH_FIXUP_FDT option") allows us to skip memory setup of DTB, but a problem for ARM is that spin_table_update_dt() and psci_update_dt() are skipped as well if CONFIG_ARCH_FIXUP_FDT is disabled. This commit allows us to skip only fdt_fixup_memory_banks() instead of the whole of arch_fixup_fdt(). It will be useful when we want to use a memory node from a kernel DTB as is, but need some fixups for Spin-Table/PSCI. 2016-03-14Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to KconfigSimon Glass
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing. Useful rules in scripts/Makefile.lib allows us to easily generate a device tree blob and wrap it in assembly code. We do not need to parse a linker script to get output format and arch. Commit 35fc84fa1ff51e15ecd3e464dac87eb105ffed30 broke bootm on avr32. It requires to call do_bootm_linux() with flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_PREP before calling it again with flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_GO. Fix this by allowing flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_PREP, this however will require a complete refactoring later on. At present the arguments to bootm are processed in a somewhat confusing way. Sub-functions must know how many arguments their calling functions have processed, and the OS boot function must also have this information. Also it isn't obvious that 'bootm' and 'bootm start' provide arguments in the same way. Adjust the code so that arguments are removed from the list before calling a sub-function. Patch "Replace CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE by auto-generated value" (sha1: 25ddd1fb0a2281b182529afbc8fda5de2dc16d96) introduce GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which is sizeof aligned gd_t (currently 0x40). Microblaze configs used 0x40(128) because this place also contained board info structure which lies on the top of ram. U-Boot is placed to the top of the ram (for example 0xd7ffffff) and bd structure was moved out of ram. This patch is fixing this scheme with GENERATED_BD_INFO_SIZE which swap global data and board info structures. 2010-11-17Switch from archive libraries to partial linkingSebastien Carlier
Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols". This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended. This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is inspired. The name of each former library archive is preserved except for extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker scripts. This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but include source files that depend these disabled features in the build, resulting in undefined symbols.
