2017-07-26Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC/NAND/UBI and NOWHERE to KconfigSimon Glass
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic now. We repeated partial moves for CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH, but this is not completed. Finish this work by the tool. During this move, let's rename it to CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH. Actually, we have more instances of "#ifndef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH" than those of "#ifdef CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH". Flipping the logic will make the code more readable. Besides, negative meaning symbols do not fit in obj-$(CONFIG_...) style Makefiles. This commit was created as follows: [1] Edit "default n" to "default y" in the config entry in common/Kconfig. 2016-07-21mpc83xx: make it bootable with the latest kernelKevin Hao
Due to the blow up of the latest kernel size, the default gnuzip size (8M) seems too small. The yocto kernel size I built for mpc8315erdb board is 5294393, and it can't be boot by using the latest u-boot. So expand gnuzip buffer for all the mpc83xx boards to fix this issue. Robert P. J. 2016-07-21mpc83xx: fix the corruption of u-boot when saveenvKevin Hao
Robert P. J. Day has pointed that the value of SYS_MONITOR_LEN in MPC8315ERDB.h is smaller than the u-boot.bin. This will cause the overlap between the code of u-boot and the environment variable. So when executing saveenv, it will corrupt the code of u-boot and causes the board not boot. Fix this for all the mpc83xx boards by reserving a 512K area. Reported-by: Robert P. J. 2016-03-14Kconfig: Move CONFIG_FIT and related options to KconfigSimon Glass
There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this. Move these options to Kconfig and tidy up board configuration: CONFIG_FIT CONFIG_OF_BOARD_SETUP CONFIG_OF_SYSTEM_SETUP CONFIG_FIT_SIGNATURE CONFIG_FIT_BEST_MATCH CONFIG_FIT_VERBOSE CONFIG_OF_STDOUT_VIA_ALIAS CONFIG_RSA Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot and SPL. Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing. The pci_indirect.c file is always compiled when CONFIG_PCI is defined although the indirect PCI bridge support is not needed by every board. Introduce a new CONFIG_PCI_INDIRECT_BRIDGE config option and only compile indirect PCI bridge support if this options is enabled. Also add the new option into the configuration files of the boards which needs that. Compile tested for powerpc, x86, arm and nds32. 2010-11-2783xx: Fix NAND_SPL link addressScott Wood
Apply the same fix for 83xx as was done for 85xx in commit 96196a1f7546904563994d2d041804a816d7c139. Without this, NAND SPLs are built with the text base intended for the main image, resulting in a broken, very large u-boot-nand.bin. The block of defines for NAND boot is moved closer to where CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE is defined. We can't directly use CONFIG_SYS_NAND_U_BOOT_DST in the definition of CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE because autoconf.mk will include the literal text "CONFIG_SYS_NAND_U_BOOT_DST", but at least keep them close and point out that they're supposed to be the same. CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files. Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file. No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro definitions as well. Now that warm booting is not supported, there isn't a need for the BOOTFLAG_COLD and BOOTFLAG_WARM defines, so remove them. Note that this change makes the board info bd_bootflags field useless. It will always be set to 0, but we leave it around so that we don't break the board info structure that some OSes are expecting to be passed from U-Boot.
