2013-02-08Thermal: rename thermal governor Kconfig option to avoid generic namingZhang Rui
Currently, we have three Kconfig options for thermal governors, aka, CONFIG_FAIR_SHARE, CONFIG_USER_SPACE and CONFIG_STEP_WISE. But these names are too generic that may bring confusion to users. Rename them to CONFIG_THERMAL_GOV_FAIR_SHARE, CONFIG_THERMAL_GOV_USER_SPACE, CONFIG_THERMAL_GOV_STEP_WISE to avoid the generic naming. Signed-off-by: Zhang Rui <rui.zhang@intel.com>
2013-02-08thermal: exynos: Use the new thermal trend type for quick cooling action.Amit Daniel Kachhap
This patch uses the quick thermal cooling trend type macros. This is needed as exynos5 and other thermal sensors now supports only interrupt method for thresold temperature check. 2013-02-08Thermal: exynos: Add support for temperature falling interrupt.Jonghwa Lee
This patch introduces using temperature falling interrupt in exynos thermal driver. Former patch, it only use polling way to check whether if system themperature is fallen. However, exynos SOC also provides temperature falling interrupt way to do same things by hw. This feature is not supported in exynos4210. 2013-02-06thermal: rcar: remove machine_power_off() from rcar_thermal_notify()Kuninori Morimoto
Machine/System power-off is run in thermal frame work if it become critical temperature. This patch removed pointless machine_power_off() from thermal_zone_device_ops :: .notify Signed-off-by: Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Zhang Rui <rui.zhang@intel.com>
2013-02-06thermal: rcar: add interrupt supportKuninori Morimoto
This patch adds interrupt support for R-Car thermal driver. New generation R-Car thermal sensor interrupt controller was different from old generation. This patch supports new generation sensor only, since the old generation interrupt controller had never been used before, and will never be used in the future. 2013-02-06thermal: rcar: add read/write functions for common/priv dataKuninori Morimoto
R-Car thermal driver will use struct common in next feature (interrupt support). But the register address is different between struct priv and common. This patch adds read/write functions for struct common, and use macro technique to avoid wrong register access. This is preparation patch for next feature (interrupt support), therefore, there is no user to use this common read/write function at this point. 2013-02-06thermal: rcar: multi channel supportKuninori Morimoto
R-Car thermal sensor will be multi channel sensor in next generation. But "IRQ controlling method" and "register mapping" are different between old/new chip. This patch adds multi sensor support. Then, this driver assumes there is common register if platform has IRQ resource. The IRQ will be supported soon. 2013-02-06thermal: rcar: use mutex lock instead of spin lockKuninori Morimoto
Current R-Car thermal driver is using spin lock for each registers read/write, but it is pointless lock. This lock is required while reading temperature, but it needs long wait (= 300ms). So, this patch used mutex lock while reading temperature, instead of spin lock for each registers. 2013-02-06thermal: rcar: enable CPCTL to use hardware TSC decidingKuninori Morimoto

2013-02-06thermal: sysfs: Add a new sysfs node emul_temp for thermal emulationAmit Daniel Kachhap
This patch adds support to set the emulated temperature method in thermal zone (sensor). After setting this feature thermal zone may report this temperature and not the actual temperature. The emulation implementation may be based on sensor capability through platform specific handler or pure software emulation if no platform handler defined. This is useful in debugging different temperature threshold and its associated cooling action. Critical threshold's cannot be emulated. Writing 0 on this node should disable emulation. 2013-02-06PM: intel_powerclamp: off by one in start_power_clamp()Dan Carpenter
This value has already been clamped correctly to 0 through 49 in powerclamp_set_cur_state() so this patch doesn't actually change anything. But we should fix it anyway for consistency. set_target_ratio is used as an offset into an array with MAX_TARGET_RATIO (50) elements. 2013-02-06thermal: exynos: Miscellaneous fixes to support falling threshold interruptAmit Daniel Kachhap

2013-02-06PM: Introduce Intel PowerClamp DriverJacob Pan
Intel PowerClamp driver performs synchronized idle injection across all online CPUs. The goal is to maintain a given package level C-state ratio. Compared to other throttling methods already exist in the kernel, such as ACPI PAD (taking CPUs offline) and clock modulation, this is often more efficient in terms of performance per watt. 2013-01-17thermal: check for invalid trip setup when registering thermal deviceEduardo Valentin
This patch adds an extra check in the data structure while registering a thermal device. 2013-01-03leds: leds-gpio: set devm_gpio_request_one() flags param correctlyJavier Martinez Canillas
commit a99d76f leds: leds-gpio: use gpio_request_one changed the leds-gpio driver to use gpio_request_one() instead of gpio_request() + gpio_direction_output() Unfortunately, it also made a semantic change that breaks the leds-gpio driver. The gpio_request_one() flags parameter was set to: GPIOF_DIR_OUT | (led_dat->active_low ^ state) Since GPIOF_DIR_OUT is 0, the final flags value will just be the XOR'ed value of led_dat->active_low and state. This value were used to distinguish between HIGH/LOW output initial level and call gpio_direction_output() accordingly. With this new semantic gpio_request_one() will take the flags value of 1 as a configuration of input direction (GPIOF_DIR_IN) and will call gpio_direction_input() instead of gpio_direction_output(). int gpio_request_one(unsigned gpio, unsigned long flags, const char *label) { .. if (flags & GPIOF_DIR_IN) err = gpio_direction_input(gpio); else err = gpio_direction_output(gpio, (flags & GPIOF_INIT_HIGH) ? 1 : 0); .. } The right semantic is to evaluate led_dat->active_low ^ state and set the output initial level explicitly.
