2007-07-31.gitignore updateAlexey Dobriyan
Somehow I ended up with the following in tree: $ git status ... # Untracked files: # (use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed) # # fs/proc/root.o.FuMxJQ # net/ipv4/tcp_minisocks.o.geCDYR These are presumably temporary gcc files, which aren't interesting. 2007-07-20Un-ignore "vmlinux.lds.S" in .gitignoreLinus Torvalds
We ignore all the generated files called "vmlinux*" from the top-level gitignore, but that also ends up catching a few files that we track, and that people do edit. Notably the "vmlinux.lds.S" file, that each architecture has. You can always use "git add -f" to override the ignore file, but we might as well just make it explicit for this file. headers_install by default puts headers into usr/include/ . They're auto-generated, so should be ignored. Same for *.orig, *.rej .
