2012-11-07batman-adv: Distributed ARP Table - add a new debug log levelAntonio Quartulli
A new log level has been added to concentrate messages regarding DAT: ARP snooping, requests, response and DHT related messages. The new log level is named BATADV_DBG_DAT Signed-off-by: Antonio Quartulli <ordex@autistici.org>
2012-08-23batman-adv: Add the backbone gateway list to debugfsSimon Wunderlich
This is especially useful if there are no claims yet, but we still want to know which gateways are using bridge loop avoidance in the network. Signed-off-by: Simon Wunderlich <siwu@hrz.tu-chemnitz.de> Signed-off-by: Antonio Quartulli <ordex@autistici.org>
2012-06-18batman-adv: Add get_ethtool_stats() supportMartin Hundebøll
Added additional counters in a bat_stats structure, which are exported through the ethtool api. The counters are specific to batman-adv and includes: forwarded packets and bytes management packets and bytes (aggregated OGMs at this point) translation table packets New counters are added by extending "enum bat_counters" in types.h and adding corresponding descriptive string(s) to bat_counters_strings in soft-iface.c. Counters are increased by calling batadv_add_counter() and incremented by one by calling batadv_inc_counter(). 2012-05-14batman-adv: README cleanupsSven Eckelmann
- Add routing_algo - Remove date from README: The date has to be updated when a patch touches the README. Therefore, nearly every feature will modify this date. It can happens quite often that not only one feature is currently in development or waiting on the mailinglist. This creates merge conflicts when applying a patchset. The date itself doesn't provide any additional information when this file is only available in a release tarball or as part of a SCM repository. 2012-04-11batman-adv: add basic bridge loop avoidance codeSimon Wunderlich
This second version of the bridge loop avoidance for batman-adv avoids loops between the mesh and a backbone (usually a LAN). By connecting multiple batman-adv mesh nodes to the same ethernet segment a loop can be created when the soft-interface is bridged into that ethernet segment. A simple visualization of the loop involving the most common case - a LAN as ethernet segment: node1 <-- LAN --> node2 | | wifi <-- mesh --> wifi Packets from the LAN (e.g. ARP broadcasts) will circle forever from node1 or node2 over the mesh back into the LAN. With this patch, batman recognizes backbone gateways, nodes which are part of the mesh and backbone/LAN at the same time. Each backbone gateway "claims" clients from within the mesh to handle them exclusively. By restricting that only responsible backbone gateways may handle their claimed clients traffic, loops are effectively avoided. 2010-12-16net: Add batman-adv meshing protocolSven Eckelmann
B.A.T.M.A.N. (better approach to mobile ad-hoc networking) is a routing protocol for multi-hop ad-hoc mesh networks. The networks may be wired or wireless. See http://www.open-mesh.org/ for more information and user space tools. Signed-off-by: Sven Eckelmann <sven@narfation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
