2014-07-24platform: Remove most references to platform_bus devicePawel Moll
A number of board files in arch/arm and arch/unicore32 explicitly reference platform_bus device as a parent for new platform devices. This is unnecessary, as platform device API guarantees that devices with NULL parent are going to by adopted by the mentioned "root" device. This patch removes or replaces with NULL such references. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. The patch makes necessary changes on gpio-mxc as below to turn it into an upstanding gpio driver. * Add a list to save all mx2 ports references, so that mx2_gpio_irq_handler can walk through all interrupt status registers * Use readl/writel to replace mach-specific accessors __raw_readl/__raw_writel * Change mxc_gpio_init into mxc_gpio_probe function * Move "struct mxc_gpio_port" into gpio-mxc.c, as it needs not to be public at all, and also make some other cleanup on plat-mxc/include/mach/gpio.h at the same time And the patch then migrates mach-imx and mach-mx5 to the updated driver by adding corresponding platform devices.
