2012-01-05ARM: restart: remove the now empty arch_reset()Russell King
Remove the now empty arch_reset() from all the mach/system.h includes, and remove its callsite. Remove arm_machine_restart() as this function no longer does anything useful. For samsung platforms, remove the include of mach/system-reset.h and plat/system-reset.h from their respective mach/system.h headers as these just define their arch_reset functions. As a result, the s3c2410 and plat-samsung system-reset.h files are no longer referenced, so remove these files entirely. 2012-01-05ARM: 7254/1: restart: S3C24XX: move SWRST based S3C platforms toHeiko Stuebner
S3C2412/S3C2416/S3C2443 use a special register to signal the reset to the processor and used therefore the s3c24xx_reset_hook mechanism in the s3c24xx-specific arch reset. This patch introduces restart functions for these architectures, moves the board files to them and removes the s3c24xx_reset_hook infrastructure, as all users are gone. 2011-12-22driver-core: remove sysdev.h usage.Kay Sievers
The sysdev.h file should not be needed by any in-kernel code, so remove the .h file from these random files that seem to still want to include it. 2011-11-21ARM: restart: only perform setup for restart when soft-restartingRussell King
We only need to set the system up for a soft-restart if we're going to be doing a soft-restart. Provide a new function (soft_restart()) which does the setup and final call for this, and make platforms use it. Eliminate the call to setup_restart() from the default handler. This means that platforms arch_reset() function is no longer called with the page tables prepared for a soft-restart, and caches will still be enabled. 2011-10-17ARM: 7022/1: allow to detect conflicting zreladdrsSascha Hauer
Boards used to specify zreladdr in their Makefile.boot with zreladdr-y := x, so conflicting zreladdrs were silently overwritten. This patch changes this to zreladdr-y += x, so that we end up with multiple words in zreladdr in such a case. We can detect this later and complain if necessary. This also removes the mach/s3c2400 version which was probably never used due to the fact that we have this line in arch/arm/Makefile: machine-$(CONFIG_ARCH_S3C2410) := s3c2410 s3c2400 [...] This is later used to construct the search path for: The compiler would be looking into mach-s3c2410 and picking up this version first. Any config that was actually expecting the mach-s3c2400 version was therefore producing a broken kernel binary. Not relying on any of them anymore would fix that issue. Let's give their addruart macro some slack by providing an extra work register which will allow for much needed cleanups.
