git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linville/wireless-next John W. Linville says: ==================== pull request: wireless-next 2014-09-22 Please pull this batch of updates intended for the 3.18 stream... For the mac80211 bits, Johannes says: "This time, I have some rate minstrel improvements, support for a very small feature from CCX that Steinar reverse-engineered, dynamic ACK timeout support, a number of changes for TDLS, early support for radio resource measurement and many fixes. Also, I'm changing a number of places to clear key memory when it's freed and Intel claims copyright for code they developed." For the bluetooth bits, Johan says: "Here are some more patches intended for 3.18. Most of them are cleanups or fixes for SMP. The only exception is a fix for BR/EDR L2CAP fixed channels which should now work better together with the L2CAP information request procedure." For the iwlwifi bits, Emmanuel says: "I fix here dvm which was broken by my last pull request. Arik continues to work on TDLS and Luca solved a few issues in CT-Kill. Eyal keeps digging into rate scaling code, more to come soon. Besides this, nothing really special here." Beyond that, there are the usual big batches of updates to ath9k, b43, mwifiex, and wil6210 as well as a handful of other bits here and there. Also, rtlwifi gets some btcoexist attention from Larry. Please let me know if there are problems! ==================== Had to adjust the wil6210 code to comply with Joe Perches's recent change in net-next to make the netdev_*() routines return void instead of 'int'. 2014-08-19MIPS: BCM47XX: Fix reboot problem on BCM4705/BCM4785Hauke Mehrtens
This adds some code based on code from the Broadcom GPL tar to fix the reboot problems on BCM4705/BCM4785. I tried rebooting my device for ~10 times and have never seen a problem. This reverts the changes in the previous commit and adds the real fix as suggested by Rafał. Setting bit 22 in Reg 22, sel 4 puts the BIU (Bus Interface Unit) into async mode. 2014-07-30MIPS: BCM47XX: Select SYS_SUPPORTS_HIGHMEM for BCM47XX_BCMARafał Miłecki
It seems that bcm47xx can handle only 128 MiB of RAM directly. There are few devices with 256 MiB, but Broadcom's SDK uses highmem to handle anything above 128 MiB. 2014-07-30MIPS: BCM47XX: fixup broken MAC addresses in nvramHauke Mehrtens
The address prefix 00:90:4C is used by Broadcom in their initial configuration. When a mac address with the prefix 00:90:4C is used all devices from the same series are sharing the same mac address. To prevent mac address collisions we replace them with a mac address based on the base address. To generate such addresses we take the main mac address from et0macaddr and increase it by two for the first wifi device and by 3 for the second one. This matches the printed mac address on the device. The main mac address increased by one is used as wan address by the vendor code. 2014-07-30MIPS: BCM47XX: make reboot more relaiableHauke Mehrtens
The reboot on the BCM47XX SoCs is done, by setting the watchdog counter to 1 and let it trigger a reboot, when it reaches 0. Some devices with a BCM4705/BCM4785 SoC do not reboot when the counter is set to 1 and decreased to 0 by the hardware. It looks like it works more reliable when we set it to 3. As far as I understand the hardware, this should not make any difference, but I do not have access to any documentation for this SoC. It is still not 100% reliable. 2014-05-19ssb: sprom: add dev_id field for value overriding standard IDRafał Miłecki
Some devices may have different features despite sharing the same ID (e.g. PCI ID). For example 14e4:4331 is usually a dual band, but this can be "limited". Device with "pci/x/y/devid=0x4332" supports 2.4 GHz only. Similarly 0x4333 will mean support for 5 GHz only. Add entry in SPROM so info described above can be extracted and stored. 2014-01-31Merge branch 'upstream' of git://git.linux-mips.org/pub/scm/ralf/upstream-linusLinus Torvalds
Pull MIPS updates from Ralf Baechle: "The most notable new addition inside this pull request is the support for MIPS's latest and greatest core called "inter/proAptiv". The patch series describes this core as follows. "The interAptiv is a power-efficient multi-core microprocessor for use in system-on-chip (SoC) applications. The interAptiv combines a multi-threading pipeline with a coherence manager to deliver improved computational throughput and power efficiency. The interAptiv can contain one to four MIPS32R3 interAptiv cores, system level coherence manager with L2 cache, optional coherent I/O port, and optional floating point unit." The platform specific patches touch all 3 Broadcom families. It adds support for the new Broadcom/Netlogix XLP9xx Soc, building a common BCM63XX SMP kernel for all BCM63XX SoCs regardless of core type/count and full gpio button/led descriptions for BCM47xx. The rest of the series are cleanups and bug fixes that are MIPS generic and consist largely of changes that Imgtec/MIPS had published in their linux-mti-3.10.git stable tree. 2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: Fix some very confused types and data corruptionIlia Mirkin
Fix nvram_read_alpha2 copying too many bytes over the ssb_sprom structure. Also fix the arguments of the read_macaddr, although the code was technically not wrong before due to an extra dereference. 2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: add vectored interrupt supportHauke Mehrtens
This adds support for vectored interrupt which is supported by the SoC using a MIPS 74K CPU like the BCM4716 and BCM4706. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6290/
2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: move constant array from stackHauke Mehrtens
Move the possible nvram sizes from the stack into the data segment Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6044/
2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: add asmlinkage to plat_irq_dispatch()Hauke Mehrtens
plat_irq_dispatch() is called from asm code, add asmlinkage. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6043/
2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: add EARLY_PRINTK_8250 supportHauke Mehrtens
The BCM47xx SoCs have a 8250 serial compatible console at address 0x18000300 and an other at 0x18000400. On most devices 0x18000300 is wired to some pins on the board, we should use that. This is the smae for the AI (bcma) and the SB (ssb) bus, this is some offset on the chip common core. 2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: Remove CFE supportHauke Mehrtens
bcm47xx only uses the CFE code for early print to a console, but that is also possible with a early print serial 8250 driver. The CFE api init causes hangs somewhere in prom_init_cfe() on some devices like the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 and the Asus WL-520GU. This was reported in https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/4061 and https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=17063 This will remove all the CFE handling code from bcm47xx. 2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: only print SoC name in system type in cpuinfoHauke Mehrtens
Recently the output of "system type" in /proc/cpuinfo was changed to Broadcom BCM4730 (Some sample board), but it is better to just print the SoC name in the "system type" entry. The board name will be added in the machine entry later. 2014-01-22MIPS: BCM47XX: select BMIPS CPUs for BCM47XX_SSBJonas Gorski
Let BCM47XX_SSB select the appropriate BMIPS CPUs enountered on those systems. Signed-off-by: Jonas Gorski <jogo@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6244/
2013-12-21b44: use fixed PHY device if we do not find anyHauke Mehrtens
The ADM6996L switch and some Broadcom switches with two MII interfaces like the BCM5325F connected to two MACs on the SoC, used on some routers do not return a valid value when reading the PHY id register and Linux thinks there is no PHY at all, but that is wrong. This patch registers a fixed phy in the arch code and then searches it when there is no other phy in the Ethernet driver code. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: David S.
