2016-06-08powerpc: do away with ARCH_[WANT_OPTIONAL|REQUIRE]_GPIOLIBLinus Walleij
This replaces: - "select ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB" with "select GPIOLIB" as this can now be selected directly. - "select ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB" with no dependency: GPIOLIB is now selectable by everyone, so we need not declare our intent to select it. When ordering the symbols the following rationale was used: if the selects were in alphabetical order, I moved select GPIOLIB to be in alphabetical order, but if the selects were not maintained in alphabetical order, I just replaced "select ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB" with "select GPIOLIB". 2014-11-08powerpc/8xx: Remove Kconfig symbol FADSPaul Bolle
Commit 39eb56da2b53 ("pcmcia: Remove m8xx_pcmcia driver") removed the only driver that used CONFIG_FADS. Setting the Kconfig symbol FADS is pointless since that commit. Remove it. Signed-off-by: Paul Bolle <pebolle@tiscali.nl> Signed-off-by: Scott Wood <scottwood@freescale.com>
2013-12-30powerpc: Remove unused REDBOOT Kconfig parameterMichael Opdenacker
This removes the REDBOOT Kconfig parameter, which was no longer used anywhere in the source code and Makefiles. Signed-off-by: Michael Opdenacker <michael.opdenacker@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2013-03-20powerpc: remove redundant GENERIC_GPIO selectionAlexandre Courbot
ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB selects GENERIC_GPIO, so there is no need to select it explicitly. Signed-off-by: Alexandre Courbot <acourbot@nvidia.com> Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2012-02-21of: Only compile OF_DYNAMIC on PowerPC pseries and iseriesGrant Likely
Only two architectures use the OF node reference counting and reclaim bits. There is no need to compile it for the rest of the PowerPC platforms or for any of the other architectures. This patch makes iseries and pseries select CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC, and makes it default to off for everything else. It is still safe to turn on CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC on all architectures, it just isn't necessary. v2: Also select OF_DYNAMIC for PPC_CHROMA and MPC885ADS as reported by Michael Meuling Signed-off-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@secretlab.ca> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net> Acked-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Acked-by: Jimi Xenidis <jimix@pobox.com> (for PPC_CHROMA bug fix) Cc: Rob Herring <rob.herring@calxeda.com>
2011-03-15powerpc/8xx: remove obsolete mgsuvd boardHolger Brunck
The MPC852 based mgsuvd board from Keymile was initially ported, but later on not developed further. This patch removes the respective files to decrease merging conflicts and unneeded maintenance. 2010-08-04powerpc/8xx: Add support for the MPC8xx based boards from TQCHeiko Schocher
Supported SMC1 (serial console), SCC1 Ethernet (10Mbps HD). FEC Ethernet, 8MB NOR CFI Flash. Tested on STK8xx with TQM860L (with FEC) and with TQM855M (without FEC). Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2008-09-16powerpc: Add support for the MPC852 based mgsuvd board from keymile.Heiko Schocher
Supported SMC1 (serial console), SCC3 Ethernet (10Mbps hdx). Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

2007-10-04[POWERPC] 8xx: Work around CPU15 erratum.Scott Wood
The CPU15 erratum on MPC8xx chips can cause incorrect code execution under certain circumstances, where there is a conditional or indirect branch in the last word of a page, with a target in the last cache line of the next page. This patch implements one of the suggested workarounds, by forcing a TLB miss whenever execution crosses a page boundary. This is done by invalidating the pages before and after the one being loaded into the TLB in the ITLB miss handler. 2005-09-26powerpc: Merge enough to start building in arch/powerpc.Paul Mackerras
This creates the directory structure under arch/powerpc and a bunch of Kconfig files. It does a first-cut merge of arch/powerpc/mm, arch/powerpc/lib and arch/powerpc/platforms/powermac. This is enough to build a 32-bit powermac kernel with ARCH=powerpc. For now we are getting some unmerged files from arch/ppc/kernel and arch/ppc/syslib, or arch/ppc64/kernel. This makes some minor changes to files in those directories and files outside arch/powerpc. The boot directory is still not merged. That's going to be interesting.
