2015-12-14ACPICA: Debugger: Fix runtime stub issues of ACPI_DEBUGGER_EXEC using ↵Lv Zheng
different stub mechanism ACPICA commit 11522d6b894054fc4d62dd4f9863ec151296b386 The ACPI_DEBUGGER_EXEC is a problem now when the debugger code is compiled but runtime disabled. They actually will get executed in this situation. Although such executions are harmless if we can correctly make acpi_db_single_step() a runtime stub, users may still do not want to see the debugger print messages logged into OSPMs' kernel logs when a debugger driver is not loaded to enable the debugger during runtime. This patch fixes this issue by introducing new stub mechanism instead of ACPI_DEBUGGER_EXEC. Lv Zheng. ACPICA commit b60612373a4ef63b64a57c124576d7ddb6d8efb6 For physical addresses, since the address may exceed 32-bit address range after calculation, we should use 0x%8.8X%8.8X instead of ACPI_PRINTF_UINT and ACPI_FORMAT_UINT64() instead of ACPI_FORMAT_NATIVE_UINT()/ACPI_FORMAT_TO_UINT(). This patch also removes above replaced macros as there are no users. This is a preparation to switch acpi_physical_address to 64-bit on 32-bit kernel builds. 2014-02-26ACPICA: Headers: Deploy #pragma pack (push) and (pop).Bob Moore
Use push and pop to both guarantee that the correct alignment is used, and to restore the alignment to whatever it was before the header was included. It is reported that the #pragma pack(push/pop) directives are not supported by the specific GCCs, but this patch still doesn't affect kernel build as there are already #pragma pack([1]) directives used in the old ACPICA headers, which means there shouldn't be GCCs that are currently used to compile the ACPI kernels do not support #pragma pack() directives. 2014-02-10ACPICA: Improve support for 32/64 bit physical addresses in printf().Bob Moore
This change improves the support for physical addresses in printf debug statements and other output on both 32-bit and 64-bit hosts. It consistently outputs the appropriate number of bytes for each host. The %p specifier is unsatisfactory since it does not emit uniform output on all hosts/clib implementations (on some, leading zeros are not supported, leading to difficult-to-read output). 2013-10-30ACPICA: Cleanup memory allocation macros and configurability.Lv Zheng
In the common case, the ACPI_ALLOCATE and related macros now resolve directly to their respective acpi_os* OSL interfaces. Two options: 1) The ACPI_ALLOCATE_ZEROED macro defaults to a simple local implementation by default, unless overridden by the USE_NATIVE_ALLOCATE_ZEROED define. 2) For ACPI execution simulation environment (AcpiExec) which is not shipped with the Linux kernel, the macros can optionally be resolved to the local interfaces that track each allocation (used to immediately detect memory leaks). 2012-09-21ACPICA: Add support for complex _PLD buffers.Bob Moore
_PLD (Physical Location of Device) returns a bit-packed buffer that is difficult to parse. This change adds a new interface, AcpiDecodePldBuffer that parses the buffer into a more usable local struct. Also adds macros to both get and set individual fields within the packed _PLD buffer. Adds a new include file, acbuffer.h - which will be expanded to add structs for other ACPI names that return buffers. ACPICA BZ 954. Emit (in comments) the decoded contents of a static _PLD buffer in order to improve comprehension of this bit-packed buffer. Add multi-endian support to the _PLD decode routine. Deploy the multi-endian macros to extract data from the _PLD buffer. 2010-01-22ACPICA: Remove obsolete ACPI_INTEGER (acpi_integer) typeBob Moore
This type was introduced as the code was migrated from ACPI 1.0 (with 32-bit AML integers) to ACPI 2.0 (with 64-bit integers). It is now obsolete and this change removes it from the ACPICA code base, replaced by u64. The original typedef has been retained for now for compatibility with existing device driver code. The mechanism that disables warnings on subsequent calls was interfering with the repair mechanism.
