2014-12-10cxgb: Use napi_alloc_skb instead of netdev_alloc_skb_ip_alignAlexander Duyck
In order to use napi_alloc_skb I needed to pass a pointer to struct adapter instead of struct pci_dev. This allowed me to access &adapter->napi. Signed-off-by: Alexander Duyck <alexander.h.duyck@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-12-09chelsio: fix misspelling of current function in stringJulia Lawall
Replace a misspelled function name by %s and then __func__. This was done using Coccinelle, including the use of Levenshtein distance, as proposed by Rasmus Villemoes. Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-08-12PCI: Remove DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE macro useBenoit Taine
We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch. A simplified version of the semantic patch that makes this change is as follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/): // <smpl> @@ identifier i; declarer name DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE; initializer z; @@ - DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE(i) + const struct pci_device_id i[] = z; // </smpl> [bhelgaas: add semantic patch] Signed-off-by: Benoit Taine <benoit.taine@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>

net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone. This does that. Mostly done via coccinelle script: @@ struct ethtool_ops *ops; struct net_device *dev; @@ - SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(dev, ops); + dev->ethtool_ops = ops; Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything. 2014-01-16drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Several files refer to an old address for the Free Software Foundation in the file header comment. Resolve by replacing the address with the URL <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/> so that we do not have to keep updating the header comments anytime the address changes. 2013-10-18net: cxgb2: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-10-02net:drivers/net: Miscellaneous conversions to ETH_ALENJoe Perches

2013-09-24chelsio: Remove extern from function prototypesJoe Perches
There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. 2013-05-22net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb/cxgb2: Use module_pci_driver to register driverPeter Hüwe
Removing some boilerplate by using module_pci_driver instead of calling register and unregister in the otherwise empty init/exit functions. The name of the pci_driver struct had to be changed in order to prevent a build failure. Signed-off-by: Peter Huewe <peterhuewe@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: add protocol argument to packet tagging functionsPatrick McHardy
Add a protocol argument to the VLAN packet tagging functions. In case of HW tagging, we need that protocol available in the ndo_start_xmit functions, so it is stored in a new field in the skb. The new field fits into a hole (on 64 bit) and doesn't increase the sks's size. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: rename NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_* feature flags to NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_*Patrick McHardy
Rename the hardware VLAN acceleration features to include "CTAG" to indicate that they only support CTAGs. Follow up patches will introduce 802.1ad server provider tagging (STAGs) and require the distinction for hardware not supporting acclerating both. 2013-03-20chelsio: use netdev_alloc_skb_ip_alignstephen hemminger

2013-03-20chelsio: add headroom in RX pathEric Dumazet
Drivers should reserve some headroom in skb used in receive path, to avoid future head reallocation. One possible way to do that is to use dev_alloc_skb() instead of alloc_skb(), so that NET_SKB_PAD bytes are reserved. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. 2012-12-07chelsio: remove get_clock and use ktime_getJan Glauber
The get_clock() of the chelsio driver clashes with the s390 one. The chelsio helper reads a timespec via ktime just to convert it back to ktime. I can see no different outcome from calling ktime_get directly. Remove the get_clock and use ktime_get directly. Signed-off-by: Jan Glauber <jang@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03chelsio: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton
