2017-11-08ath10k: fix reading sram contents for QCA4019Ashok Raj Nagarajan
[ Upstream commit 7f622593cc5add77a99cd39404e8a851be9de792 ] With QCA4019 platform, SRAM address can be accessed directly from host but currently, we are assuming sram addresses cannot be accessed directly and hence we convert the addresses. While there, clean up growing hw checks during conversion of target CPU address to CE address. Now we have function pointer pertaining to different chips. 2017-10-08ath10k: prevent sta pointer rcu violationMichal Kazior
[ Upstream commit 0a744d927406389e00687560d9ce3c5ab0e58db9 ] Station pointers are RCU protected so driver must be extra careful if it tries to store them internally for later use outside of the RCU section it obtained it in. It was possible for station teardown to race with some htt events. The possible outcome could be a use-after-free and a crash. Only peer-flow-control capable firmware was affected (so hardware-wise qca99x0 and qca4019). This could be done in sta_state() itself via explicit synchronize_net() call but there's already a convenient sta_pre_rcu_remove() op that can be hooked up to avoid extra rcu stall. The peer->sta pointer itself can't be set to NULL/ERR_PTR because it is later used in sta_state() for extra sanity checks. 2017-09-09ath10k: fix memory leak in rx ring buffer allocationRakesh Pillai
commit f35a7f91f66af528b3ee1921de16bea31d347ab0 upstream. The rx ring buffers are added to a hash table if firmware support full rx reorder. If the full rx reorder support flag is not set before allocating the rx ring buffers, none of the buffers are added to the hash table. There is a race condition between rx ring refill and rx buffer replenish from napi poll. The interrupts are enabled in hif start, before the rx ring is refilled during init. We replenish buffers from napi poll due to the interrupts which get enabled after hif start. Hence before the entire rx ring is refilled during the init, the napi poll replenishes a few buffers in steps of 100 buffers per attempt. During this rx ring replenish from napi poll, the rx reorder flag has not been set due to which the replenished buffers are not added to the hash table Set the rx full reorder support flag before we allocate the rx ring buffer to avoid the memory leak. 2017-08-07wil6210: fix deadlock when using fw_no_recovery optionLior David

Fix the problem by moving the wait outside the lock. 2017-07-27ath9k: fix an invalid pointer dereference in ath9k_rng_stop()Miaoqing Pan

The bug was triggered when do suspend/resuming continuously on Dell XPS L322X/0PJHXN version 9333 (2013) with kernel 4.12.0-041200rc4-generic. But can't reproduce on DELL E5440 + AR9300 PCIE chips. The warning is caused by accessing invalid pointer sc->rng_task. sc->rng_task is not be cleared after kthread_stop(sc->rng_task) be called in ath9k_rng_stop(). Because the kthread is stopped before ath9k_rng_kthread() be scheduled. So set sc->rng_task to null after kthread_stop(sc->rng_task) to resolve this issue. 2017-07-27ath9k: fix tx99 use after freeMiaoqing Pan
commit cf8ce1ea61b75712a154c93e40f2a5af2e4dd997 upstream. One scenario that could lead to UAF is two threads writing simultaneously to the "tx99" debug file. One of them would set the "start" value to true and follow to ath9k_tx99_init(). Inside the function it would set the sc->tx99_state to true after allocating sc->tx99skb. Then, the other thread would execute write_file_tx99() and call ath9k_tx99_deinit(). sc->tx99_state would be freed. After that, the first thread would continue inside ath9k_tx99_init() and call r = ath9k_tx99_send(sc, sc->tx99_skb, &txctl); that would make use of the freed sc->tx99_skb memory. 2017-06-24ath10k: fix napi crash during rmmod when probe firmware failsKalle Valo
commit 1427228d5869f5804b03d47acfa4a88122572a78 upstream. This fixes the below crash when ath10k probe firmware fails, NAPI polling tries to access a rx ring resource which was never allocated. An easy way to reproduce this is easy to remove all the firmware files, load ath10k modules and ath10k will crash when calling 'rmmod ath10k_pci'. The fix is to call napi_enable() from ath10k_pci_hif_start() so that it matches with napi_disable() being called from ath10k_pci_hif_stop(). Big thanks to Mohammed Shafi Shajakhan who debugged this and provided first version of the fix. In this patch I just fix the actual problem in pci.c instead of having a workaround in core.c. 2017-03-12ath9k: fix race condition in enabling/disabling IRQsFelix Fietkau
commit 3a5e969bb2f6692a256352649355d56d018d6b88 upstream. The code currently relies on refcounting to disable IRQs from within the IRQ handler and re-enabling them again after the tasklet has run. However, due to race conditions sometimes the IRQ handler might be called twice, or the tasklet may not run at all (if interrupted in the middle of a reset). This can cause nasty imbalances in the irq-disable refcount which will get the driver permanently stuck until the entire radio has been stopped and started again (ath_reset will not recover from this). Instead of using this fragile logic, change the code to ensure that running the irq handler during tasklet processing is safe, and leave the refcount untouched. commit 79e57dd113d307a6c74773b8aaecf5442068988a upstream. The active_high LED of my Wistron DNMA-92 is still being recognized as active_low on 4.7.6 mainline. When I was preparing my former commit 0f9edcdd88a9 ("ath9k: Fix LED polarity for some Mini PCI AR9220 MB92 cards.") to fix that I must have somehow messed up with testing, because I tested the final version of that patch before sending it, and it was apparently working; but now it is not working on 4.7.6 mainline. I initially added the PCI_DEVICE_SUB section for 0x0029/0x2096 above the PCI_VDEVICE section for 0x0029; but then I moved the former below the latter after seeing how 0x002A sections were sorted in the file. This turned out to be wrong: if a generic PCI_VDEVICE entry (that has both subvendor and subdevice IDs set to PCI_ANY_ID) is put before a more specific one (PCI_DEVICE_SUB), then the generic PCI_VDEVICE entry will match first and will be used. With this patch, 0x0029/0x2096 has finally got active_high LED on 4.7.6. While I'm at it, let's fix 0x002A too by also moving its generic definition below its specific ones. Commit b2d70d4944c1 ("ath9k: make GPIO API to support both of WMAC and SOC") refactored ath9k_hw_gpio_get() to support both WMAC and SOC GPIOs, changing the return on success from 1 to BIT(gpio). This broke some callers like ath_is_rfkill_set(). This doesn't fix any known bug in mainline at the moment, but should be fixed anyway. Instead of fixing all callers, change ath9k_hw_gpio_get() back to only return 0 or 1. commit c2cac2f74ab4bcf0db0dcf3a612f1e5b52d145c8 upstream. During firmware crash (or) user requested manual restart the system gets into a soft lock up state because of the below root cause. During user requested hardware restart / firmware crash the system goes into a soft lockup state as 'napi_synchronize' is called after 'napi_disable' (which sets 'NAPI_STATE_SCHED' bit) and it sleeps into infinite loop as it waits for 'NAPI_STATE_SCHED' to be cleared. Commit 0b8e3c4ca29f ("ath10k: move cal data len to hw_params") broke retrieving the calibration data from cal_data debugfs file. The length of file was always zero. The reason is: static ssize_t ath10k_debug_cal_data_read(struct file *file, char __user *user_buf, size_t count, loff_t *ppos) { struct ath10k *ar = file->private_data; void *buf = file->private_data; This is obviously bogus, private_data cannot contain both struct ath10k and the buffer. Fix it by caching calibration data to ar->debug.cal_data. This also allows it to be accessed when the device is not active (interface is down). The cal_data buffer is fixed size because during the first firmware probe we don't yet know what will be the lenght of the calibration data. It was simplest just to use a fixed length. There's a WARN_ON() in ath10k_debug_cal_data_fetch() if the buffer is too small. Tested with qca988x and firmware 10.2.4.70.56. 2016-09-28ath10k: fix copy engine 5 destination ring stuckRajkumar Manoharan
Firmware is running watchdog timer for tracking copy engine ring index and write index. Whenever both indices are stuck at same location for given duration, watchdog will be trigger to assert target. While updating copy engine destination ring write index, driver ensures that write index will not be same as read index by finding delta between these two indices (CE_RING_DELTA). HTT target to host copy engine (CE5) is special case where ring buffers will be reused and delta check is not applied while updating write index. In rare scenario, whenever CE5 ring is full, both indices will be referring same location and this is causing CE ring stuck issue as explained above. This issue is originally reported on IPQ4019 during long hour stress testing and during veriwave max clients testsuites. The same issue is also observed in other chips as well. Fix this by ensuring that write index is one less than read index which means that full ring is available for receiving data. In QCA99X0 (QCA99X0, QCA9984, QCA9888 and QCA4019) family chips, hw adds padding at the begining of the rx payload to make L3 header 4-byte aligned. In the chips doing this type of padding, the number of bytes padded will be indicated through msdu_end:info1. Define a hw_rx_desc_ops wrapper to retrieve the number of padded bytes and use this while doing undecap. This should fix padding related issues with ethernt decap format with QCA99X0, QCA9984, QCA9888 and QCA4019 hw. 2016-09-13ath10k: add provision for Rx descriptor abstractionVasanthakumar Thiagarajan
There are slight differences in Rx hw descriptor information among different chips. So far driver does not use those new information for any functionalities, but there is one important information which is available from QCA99X0 onwards to indicate the number of bytes that hw padded at the begining of the rx payload and this information is needed to undecap the rx packet. Add an abstraction for Rx desc to make use of the new desc information available. The callback that this patch defines to retrieve the padding bytes will be used in follow-up patch.
