2015-09-22orinoco: fix checking for default valueAndrzej Hajda
Thresholds uses -1 to indicate that default value should be used. Since thresholds are unsigned sign checking makes no sense. The problem has been detected using proposed semantic patch scripts/coccinelle/tests/unsigned_lesser_than_zero.cocci [1]. 2015-08-13orinoco: Do not call wiphy_unregister() from free_orinocodev()Jes Sorensen
alloc_orinocodev() would allocate the wiphy entry, but it would only get registered much later in orinoco_init(). If something failed in the init process inbetween the call to alloc_orinocodev() and the completion of orinoco_init(), the drivers would end up calling wiphy_unregister() with a NULL pointer causing beautiful OOPS fireworks. 2015-02-28cfg80211-wext: export symbols only when neededJohannes Berg
When a fully converted cfg80211 driver needs cfg80211-wext for userspace API purposes, the symbols need not be exported. When other drivers (orinoco/hermes or ipw2200) are enabled, they do need the symbols exported as they use them directly. Make those drivers select a new CFG80211_WEXT_EXPORT Kconfig symbol (instead of just CFG80211_WEXT) and export the functions only if requested - this saves about 1/2k due to the size of EXPORT_SYMBOL() itself. When using the cfg80211_inform_bss[_width]() functions drivers cannot currently indicate whether the data was received in a beacon or probe response. 2014-05-13orinoco_usb: Fix broken firmware load error checkingOndrej Zary
The check of ezusb_firmware_download() return value (added by commit 488ec878034eccb852267b0e27ce9d511f75c587) is broken because ezusb_firmware_download() returns 1 on success. This causes the driver not to work with the following error: orinoco_usb: probe of 3-3:1.0 failed with error -14 Check the return value only for negative values. There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. 2013-06-14orinoco_usb: fix memory leak in ezusb_access_ltv() when device disconnectedAlexey Khoroshilov
If "device is disconnected" check occurs to be true in ezusb_access_ltv(), it just return -ENODEV. But that means request_context is leaked since there are no any references to it anymore. The patch adds a call to ezusb_request_context_put() before return. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). Instead of passing a channel pointer and channel type to all functions and driver methods, pass a new channel definition struct. Right now, this struct contains just the control channel and channel type, but for VHT this will change. Also, add a small inline cfg80211_get_chandef_type() so that drivers don't need to use the _type field of the new structure all the time, which will change. 2012-10-19orinoco_usb: clean up some signedness issuesDan Carpenter
In ezusb_read_ltv() we had a comparison "(bufsize < 0)" which was never true because bufsize was unsigned. I looked at the implications of that. If we passed a negative number to ezusb_access_ltv() then it would be used as the size parameter of the memcpy() because that function uses min_t(int, exp_len, ans_size). But fortunately when I looked at the callers, bufsize is not controlled by the user and it's never negative. So these signedness mistakes have no impact. I removed the always false check from ezusb_read_ltv() and I changed the types in ezusb_access_ltv() and made the variables unsigned.
