2015-09-18netfilter: ebtables: Simplify the arguments to ebt_do_tableEric W. Biederman
Nearly everything thing of interest to ebt_do_table is already present in nf_hook_state. Simplify ebt_do_table by just passing in the skb, nf_hook_state, and the table. This make the code easier to read and maintenance easier. To support this create an nf_hook_state on the stack in ebt_broute (the only caller without a nf_hook_state already available). This new nf_hook_state adds no new computations to ebt_broute, but does use a few more bytes of stack. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. This uses PTR_RET instead of IS_ERR and PTR_ERR in order to increase readability. Signed-off-by: Silviu-Mihai Popescu <silviupopescu1990@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Pablo Neira Ayuso <pablo@netfilter.org>
2011-08-02rcu: convert uses of rcu_assign_pointer(x, NULL) to RCU_INIT_POINTERStephen Hemminger
When assigning a NULL value to an RCU protected pointer, no barrier is needed. The rcu_assign_pointer, used to handle that but will soon change to not handle the special case. Convert all rcu_assign_pointer of NULL value. //smpl @@ expression P; @@ - rcu_assign_pointer(P, NULL) + RCU_INIT_POINTER(P, NULL) // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Acked-by: Paul E. 2010-11-15bridge: add proper RCU annotation to should_route_hookEric Dumazet
Add br_should_route_hook_t typedef, this is the only way we can get a clean RCU implementation for function pointer. Move route_hook to location where it is used. 2010-01-18netfilter: xtables: add struct xt_mtdtor_param::netAlexey Dobriyan
Add ->net to match destructor list like ->net in constructor list. Make sure it's set in ebtables/iptables/ip6tables, this requires to propagate netns up to *_unregister_table(). Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net>
2009-08-24netfilter: xtables: mark initial tables constantJan Engelhardt
The inputted table is never modified, so should be considered const. Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net>
2009-02-18netfilter: ebtables: remove unneeded initializationsStephen Hemminger
The initialization of the lock element is not needed since the lock is always initialized in ebt_register_table. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net>

2008-11-04netfilter: netns ebtables: part 2Alexey Dobriyan
* return ebt_table from ebt_register_table(), module code will save it into per-netns data for unregistration * duplicate ebt_table at the very beginning of registration -- it's added into list, so one ebt_table wouldn't end up in many lists (and each netns has different one) * introduce underscored tables in individial modules, this is temporary to not break bisection. 2008-11-04netfilter: netns ebtables: part 1Alexey Dobriyan
* propagate netns from userspace, register table in passed netns * remporarily register every ebt_table in init_net P. S.: one needs to add ".netns_ok = 1" to igmp_protocol to test with ebtables(8) in netns. Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net>

2007-11-29[BRIDGE]: Properly dereference the br_should_route_hookPavel Emelyanov
This hook is protected with the RCU, so simple if (br_should_route_hook) br_should_route_hook(...) is not enough on some architectures. Use the rcu_dereference/rcu_assign_pointer in this case. Fixed Stephen's comment concerning using the typeof(). Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au>
2007-10-15[NETFILTER]: Replace sk_buff ** with sk_buff *Herbert Xu
With all the users of the double pointers removed, this patch mops up by finally replacing all occurances of sk_buff ** in the netfilter API by sk_buff *. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2006-03-29[NETFILTER]: Rename init functions.Andrew Morton
Every netfilter module uses `init' for its module_init() function and `fini' or `cleanup' for its module_exit() function. Problem is, this creates uninformative initcall_debug output and makes ctags rather useless. So go through and rename them all to $(filename)_init and $(filename)_fini. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
