2014-11-24sunrpc: eliminate RPC_DEBUGJeff Layton
It's always set to whatever CONFIG_SUNRPC_DEBUG is, so just use that. Signed-off-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@primarydata.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@primarydata.com>
2014-08-03sunrpc/auth: allow lockless (rcu) lookup of credential cache.NeilBrown
The new flag RPCAUTH_LOOKUP_RCU to credential lookup avoids locking, does not take a reference on the returned credential, and returns -ECHILD if a simple lookup was not possible. The returned value can only be used within an rcu_read_lock protected region. The main user of this is the new rpc_lookup_cred_nonblock() which returns a pointer to the current credential which is only rcu-safe (no ref-count held), and might return -ECHILD if allocation was required. 2013-09-03SUNRPC refactor rpcauth_checkverf error returnsAndy Adamson
Most of the time an error from the credops crvalidate function means the server has sent us a garbage verifier. The gss_validate function is the exception where there is an -EACCES case if the user GSS_context on the client has expired. 2013-08-30SUNRPC: Replace clnt->cl_principalTrond Myklebust
The clnt->cl_principal is being used exclusively to store the service target name for RPCSEC_GSS/krb5 callbacks. Replace it with something that is stored only in the RPCSEC_GSS-specific code. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2010-08-04SUNRPC: Move the bound cred to struct rpc_rqstTrond Myklebust
This will allow us to save the original generic cred in rpc_message, so that if we migrate from one server to another, we can generate a new bound cred without having to punt back to the NFS layer. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2009-09-24headers: utsname.h reduxAlexey Dobriyan
* remove asm/atomic.h inclusion from linux/utsname.h -- not needed after kref conversion * remove linux/utsname.h inclusion from files which do not need it NOTE: it looks like fs/binfmt_elf.c do not need utsname.h, however due to some personality stuff it _is_ needed -- cowardly leave ELF-related headers and files alone. 2008-04-19NFSv4: Don't use cred->cr_ops->cr_name in nfs4_proc_setclientid()Trond Myklebust
With the recent change to generic creds, we can no longer use cred->cr_ops->cr_name to distinguish between RPCSEC_GSS principals and AUTH_SYS/AUTH_NULL identities. Replace it with the rpc_authops->au_name instead... Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2008-03-14SUNRPC: Add an rpc_credop callback for binding a credential to an rpc_taskTrond Myklebust
We need the ability to treat 'generic' creds specially, since they want to bind instances of the auth cred instead of binding themselves. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>

2007-07-11SUNRPC: Enforce atomic updates of rpc_cred->cr_flagsTrond Myklebust
Convert to the use of atomic bitops... Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2007-07-11SUNRPC: Mark auth and cred operation tables as constant.Trond Myklebust
Also do the same for gss_api operation tables. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2007-07-11SUNRPC: Add a backpointer from the struct rpc_cred to the rpc_authTrond Myklebust
Cleans up an issue whereby rpcsec_gss uses the rpc_clnt->cl_auth. If we want to be able to add several rpc_auths to a single rpc_clnt, then this abuse must go. Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2007-02-14[PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). 2005-09-23[PATCH] RPC: Eliminate socket.h includes in RPC clientChuck Lever
Clean-up: get rid of unnecessary socket.h and in.h includes in the generic parts of the RPC client. Test-plan: Compile kernel with CONFIG_NFS enabled. Version: Thu, 11 Aug 2005 16:06:23 -0400 Signed-off-by: Chuck Lever <cel@netapp.com> Signed-off-by: Trond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>
2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
