2011-08-11intel: Move the Intel wired LAN driversJeff Kirsher
Moves the Intel wired LAN drivers into drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ and the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes. Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2011-05-04igbvf: remove bogus phys_idstephen hemminger
This device lies about supporting phys_id. Remove it and just let the upper layer report not supported. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Tested-by: <jeffrey.e.pieper@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2011-04-29ethtool: cosmetic: Use ethtool ethtool_cmd_speed APIDavid Decotigny
This updates the network drivers so that they don't access the ethtool_cmd::speed field directly, but use ethtool_cmd_speed() instead. For most of the drivers, these changes are purely cosmetic and don't fix any problem, such as for those 1GbE/10GbE drivers that indirectly call their own ethtool get_settings()/mii_ethtool_gset(). The changes are meant to enforce code consistency and provide robustness with future larger throughputs, at the expense of a few CPU cycles for each ethtool operation. All drivers compiled with make allyesconfig ion x86_64 have been updated. Tested: make allyesconfig on x86_64 + e1000e/bnx2x work Signed-off-by: David Decotigny <decot@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-02-28net: use pci_dev->revision, againSergei Shtylyov
Several more network drivers that read the device's revision ID from the PCI configuration register were merged after the commit 44c10138fd4bbc4b6d6bff0873c24902f2a9da65 (PCI: Change all drivers to use pci_device->revision), so it's time to do another pass of conversion to using the 'revision' field of 'struct pci_dev'... 2010-12-10netdev: Use default implementation of ethtool_ops::get_link where possibleBen Hutchings
Various drivers are using implementations of ethtool_ops::get_link that are equivalent to the default ethtool_op_get_link(). Change them to use that instead. Signed-off-by: Ben Hutchings <bhutchings@solarflare.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2010-09-27drivers/net: return operator cleanupEric Dumazet
Change "return (EXPR);" to "return EXPR;" return is not a function, parentheses are not required. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-05-14drivers/net: Remove unnecessary returns from void function()sJoe Perches
This patch removes from drivers/net/ all the unnecessary return; statements that precede the last closing brace of void functions. It does not remove the returns that are immediately preceded by a label as gcc doesn't like that. It also does not remove null void functions with return. Done via: $ grep -rP --include=*.[ch] -l "return;\n}" net/ | \ xargs perl -i -e 'local $/ ; while (<>) { s/\n[ \t\n]+return;\n}/\n}/g; print; }' with some cleanups by hand. Compile tested x86 allmodconfig only. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2009-10-26igbvf: fix memory leak when ring size changed while interface downAlexander Duyck
This patch resolves a memory leak which occurs while changing the ring size while the interface is down. Signed-off-by: Alexander Duyck <alexander.h.duyck@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-10-05net: Convert ethtool {get_stats, self_test}_count() ops to get_sset_count()Ben Hutchings
These string query operations were supposed to be replaced by the generic get_sset_count() starting in 2007. Convert the remaining implementations. Also remove calls to these operations to initialise drvinfo->n_stats. The ethtool core code already does that. 2009-05-06igbvf: cleanup flags and allow for rx checksum to be disabledAlexander Duyck
This patch cleans up a number of unused or unneeded feature flags. As a result of these changes the user should now be able to enable or disable rx checksumming via ethtool. 2009-04-08igbvf: add new driver to support 82576 virtual functionsAlexander Duyck
This adds an igbvf driver to handle virtual functions provided by the igb driver when SR-IOV has been enabled. A virtual function is a lightweight pci-e function that supports a single queue and shares resources with the 82576 physical function contained within the igb driver. To spawn virtual functions from the igb driver all that is needed is to enable CONFIG_PCI_IOV and have an 82576 Ethernet adapter on a system that supports SR-IOV in the BIOS. The virtual functions will appear after the interface is loaded.
